Anna Louise Motts Anthony, 84, of Weedville, died
Tuesday at the DuBois Nursing Home following a brief
illness.
She was born October 5, 1920 in Johnsonburg, daughter
of the late G. Frank and Grace Lesh Eilenberger Motts.
On April 27, 1940, she married Lester S. Anthony, who
survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Barbara A. (Mrs. Luther)
Nelson Jr. of Weedville; two sisters-in-law, Beulah
Heckman Motts of Stroudsburg, and Laura Miller Anthony
of East Stroudsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
three brothers, George F., Claude and John; and a
sister, Alice Thompson.
Mrs. Anthony owned and operated Anthony's Greenhouse
in Sciota, PA for more than 30 years. She attended
Weedville Wesleyan Church, loved plants and gardening,
animals, especially cats, and her family. She lived
most of her life in the Poconos area, including 54
years in Sciota, PA. In 1996, she moved to Beechcreek,
PA and in 2000 came with her daughter to Weedville.
Funeral services for Anna Louise Motts Anthony will be
held at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield at 8
p.m. Thursday, with Pastor Luther Nelson Sr. and
Pastor Randy Swink officiating. Burial will be in Mt.
Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Elk County Humane Society
or Weedville Wesleyan Church.
