BETTENDORF, Iowa -- Dwain M. 'Peanuts' Motz, 87, Bettendorf, formerly of Bennett, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Pleasant Valley.

The Rev. Charles Mills will officiate the services. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Charyn Mills, and vocalist, Henry Bentley. Casket bearers are members of the Bennett American Legion Post 104. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery, Bennett, with military rites, provided by the Bennett American Legion Rixe-Lausen Post 104.

Memorials may be made to Bennett American Legion Post 104.

Mr. Motz was born Sept. 29, 1917, in Bennett, the son of William and Minnie Walker Motz. He married Juanita L. Paulsen Oct. 12, 1941, in Bennett. She preceded him in death Jan. 8, 1987.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served the U.S. Army in the European Theater.

He owned and operated Motz Plumbing and Heating, Bennett, for many years, retiring in 1984.

He was a 60-year member of the Bennett American Legion Rixe-Lausen Post 104. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, bowling and golf. He had three holes-in-one at courses in Iowa and Arizona.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hauber of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Ken Motz and wife Diane of LeClaire; a sister, Melba Horstmann and husband Fred of Bennett; two granddaughters, Erika Wagner of Bethlehem, Pa., and Christy Kennell of Belton, Mo.; a grandson, Troy Motz of West Des Moines; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a granddaughter, Amy Hauber
