Since we all seem to be related...(if you aren't now you probably will at some point in your research) I have some papers "History of the Mougey Family" It starts with Charles Constant Mougey leaving Crosey to avoid serving in the French Army in 1837 at age 21. Anyone interested I will fax or mail. Thanks Lisa (the only Southern Mougey>>?)

Would appreciate your emailing me the family history you have. My sons great grandmother, Anna Dorcas Mougey is from Minford, Ohio, I believe, and she married a Reeves. Her brothers that I can remember were Walter and Noah

Hello Lisa,
Do you have the names of your Charles Constant Mougey's parents? I have the ship record of the Xylon arriving in NY on June 17, 1837. My gggrandparents are on it. Charles F. (for Francois) Mougey, wife Sophie, and three children. Also an assortment of other Mougeys, quite possibley the parents of Charles and other children in their 20's ---maybe some are wives--- but I do not know for sure. There is a Constant on there with that family, age 24. You probably have the same ship register off the Castle Garden web site. Let me know if you have the parents names of your Charles Constant and if the person on the ship list is your ancestor.

hi lisa, i was trying to discover the history of the mougey family a few years ago but now that my kids are etting older they are asking me more and more about it every day. my father passed away when i was 15 so i did not have a chance to ask him much so i am kinda blinded on this. i was told by my grandfather before he passed back when i was a child that the mougey's came from the bonaparte family? would you happen to know if this is infact true?

Hi everybody!
I am sorry to tell you that there's very little chance the Mougey Family could be related to the Bonaparte...
Most of the french Mougeys still live in north east of France (Doubs department) where my grand parents are.
It is still hard to find info about families since documents disapeared (mainly at the French Revolution) but i will try to find more info next time I will go to Crosey.
It is great to find out people all over the world are related...
I will come back to you (hopefully with more info!)
Good Bye Family!
