Rebecca,
Your grandfather and my grandfather (James R Moul) are first cousins. Their fathers (Henry W Moul) and my great grandfather (James A Moul) were brothers. From what I've gathered so far there were 8 children in there family 3 sisters and 5 brothers. I've spent a lot of time at the Manchester public library researching obituaries. I've been trying to get all the information I can. Do have any iformation you can share. Please reply

My grandfather, Roger died on April 9, 1990. The only siblings that are still alive are Dorothy Moul and George Moul. The live in Hooksett, New Hampshire. You have several cousins all over New Hampshire. One of the sister's to Great grandpa Henry was Sarah Foley. One of her son's still lives in Derry. Our Great Great grandfather was Jonathan Moul. I think our Great Great Grandmother name was Margaret. They were from Sheffield, England. My mother was in Austria about ten years ago and while on a train she met a train compartment full of people from England. They asked her if she had ever been to England and she told them only at the airport. She told them that she wanted to go there because that is where her great grandfather was from. When they asked what part of England she told them, Sheffield. They all said in unison that they were from Sheffield and asked what her grandfathers name was. She told them Moul. Well to her surprise she found that we have alot of relatives still living in Sheffield. The history that Aunt Sarah gave before she past away was very interesting. She wasn't very fond of her mother. She said the only thing that her mother was interested in was money. From what she said grandpa Jonathan and grandma were seperated for many years. By the way Aunt Sarah who everyone called Sally lived six days short of a hundred and had all of her marbles intact. She was a grand lady. Grandpa Jonathan was twenty-one when he came to Manchester, N.H. Elm St. was a dirt road. He lived through five wars and was either to young, too married with children or was too old. he was five years old when the Civil war was fought and living in England. Aunt Dorothy whom we all call Aunt Dolly is a great family historian. She is eighty-nine and still has all of her marbles too. She is the matriach of the family here and all the neices, nephews, great neices and great nephews refer to her as Saint Dorothy. She is truly loved by all. She never married but, brought up her brothers and sister when their mother past away. She is just as young as the ones that love her. Uncle George is the youngest of that part of the family and is just as young as we are even though he is going on seventy. The family is spread out around the country. If you have any questions, I'll ask aunt Dolly. She will know the answers. Please e-mail me back. My mother's name is Bonny. My e-mail address is rsennett@bit-net.com Hope to hear from you soon. Rebecca

I have been researching my Moul ancestors and just ran across a posting to this board from 2000. I am hoping that someone from then will still be getting these messages and will respond to me. My mother's maiden name is Moul - her father was Jonathan Moul of New Hampshire and her mother was Madeline Page. Jonathan was son of Jonathan Moul and Harriet Norton of England and husband to Mary Jane Loxton of Wales. Please reply if this rings any bells with you.

It seems we've been researching the same family. It turns out that Your mother's father Jonathan and my great-grandfather James were brothers. Both are buried with their wives in Exeter NH in the same cematery about 5 stones away. I have a thick notebook full of research I've done. I even have John and Madeline's marriage records. Madaline was John's second wife. I also just found out that one of John's son's Melvin died recently. October 15 I think. We should compare notes sometime.

Your Jonathan would be my greatx3 uncle. Jonathan, James Henry and Mary were brothers and sister. The best thing that I can tell you is to write to my mother at bonnysennett@yahoo.co.nz as she has compiled a lot more information on the family and she could probably give you better leads for you to look. I hope this helps. Craig Moul who has also posted to this site is wonder of information about the family. He actually got death and birth certificates for us.
