The Bingley Connection

I'd be very grateful for any information on Mouldings in Bingley, West Yorkshire (or surrounding area), primarily in the 1800s. In particular, descendants or ancestors or connections of John Moulding (apparently b 27 Apr 1812) and Joseph Moulding (apparently b 20 Feb 1824), who were brothers, are of special interest. Both had sons named James. Thanks!

I don't have any specific information, just what's in the births, deaths and marriages, wills etc in the regional information section of the website. You can deduce quite a lot from this. It helps a lot if you download the files and make them into a database for easy sorting and searching. Please feel free to email me if you need any help with this in any way.

Good luck. I am also curious about the Bingley/West Yorkshire connection. There are only two Dinah Mouldings, one from Keighley or Bingley and the other from Preston. So perhaps there's a connection there somewhere.

A good place for help is the relevant mailing list. If you go to:
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/ENG/
you will see the various lists of localities for England. I don't know which ones are most helpful but you could always subscribe to the Yks or Yorks or Yorkshire ones and try them out. I subscribe to a Lancs general one which has lots of very helpful people on it. BTW "subscribe" doesn't mean money in this case. They are free.

I recently obtained a death certificate for a Charles Moulding in British Columbia, Canada, thinking he was a relative - not. He was born in Bingley on 3 January 1870, son of William and Lydia. If you would care to provide me an email address, I could forward you an electronic copy of the certificate.

Hi Rod,

I actually live in Bingley and have done for over 24 years. I know my Dad - Andrew, has been here for over 30 and prior to that he grew up in Keighley.

I know there is a connection in Bingley as there is a Mrs. Moulding that lives on the next road to myself but to this day I haven't been able to track a connection down.

At the parish church in Bingley there is a gravestone next to the entrance with a Moulding's name on there, it is dated in the late 1800's - I am not sure of any specifics although I am more than happy to go and look at the name, etc should you require me to.

I have been trying to piece something together for some time on this although I just never have the time so pardon me for my ignorance.

Hope this helps, please get in touch if can help more.

David.

David -

Yes please, the details of the gravestone you mention would be very interesting. There aren't any more, are there? Any other Moulding data would also be good, such as your data and your father's.

I'm still at fairly early stages in all this although a relation overseas may have got further (we are trying to sort this out). I'll happily update you when I/we have made some progress.

Rod

No problem Rod, I shall try and get that done for you over the next day or so. I don't live a too far away from the Church.

I will put you an email together with all the bits I have and see if there is any matches.

Speak to you soon.

David.
