Hi Sandra, thank you so much for the information. Unfortunately, I can't add much to yours at this time but do intend to pursue it. Ellard's wife, Aunt Betty, got me started on this the other day. She is the only surviving in-law as far as I know and she has a pretty good memory. Her daughters, Gail and Marlene, are interested in pursuing this and so are some other cousins. I will keep you posted if I get anything more. How did you come across your info? I'm new at this family tree thing so if you can give me any guidance, I'd much appreciate it. Hi there, My father was Orville (born Jan 14 1914 died April 4 1986), he was the oldest of the siblings, the info I have is; Lorne (born Aug 22 1922), who was the last surviving sibling passed away a couple of years ago, Ellard born Sept 28 1924, Ellroy born Sept 26 1915, Joe born Sept 20 1920, Pricilla born Nov 5 1926 and your mom Charlotte. Our grandfather was Michael died March 12 1930, our grandmother was Annie LaRue died May 22 1928, both were born in Vinton Que and married Sept 11 1913 in Vinton Que, Michael's parents were Thomas Mousseau and Bridget Dollighan and Annie's were James LaRue and ?Annie Roderick or Mary Ann Ready? Michael's siblings are Mary (married Sloan) , Bea, and Frank. Hi Sandra. Elroy was my uncle too. My mother, Charlotte, was his sister. They had another sister, Priscilla, who lived in BC and passed away quite a few years ago. Mom also died 4 years ago and as far as I know, none of the brothers or sisters are still alive. Do you have any info on the family? I've only started researching the Mousseau name and all I know beyond Mom's sibs is that their father was Michael and mother was Laura and that they lived in Vinton Que.

My birth name is Barrie Mousseau. Ted Mousseau is my father. After divorce, my mom remarried and my name was changed to Barrie Lunstroth.

I have been in contact with cousings in Ontario, decendants of my father's brothers and sisters.

I would like to contact my 1/2 brother, born after my father remarried. His name is Gerald Mousseau.

A word document is fine I have only those children born in Ste. Genevieve and Jean Baptiste's marriage record to Elizabeth Brouillard, which lists his parents. Can you tell me where the records are for the rest of the children? I knew there were probably more children, but I didn't know which church records to look it after I couldn't find them in Ste. Help needed - Joseph Mousseau

Please contact me if you have any info on the family of Joseph Mousseau, born c. 1845 in NY. In 1900, he and his family were living in Cohoes, Albany Co., NY. He was an upholsterer, and was married to Mary. Children listed were Hattie, born c. 1870; Charles, born c. 1884; Hannah, born c. 1884; and Elizabeth, born c. 1888. I suspect there were other children, and I suspect that Mary was not the mother of Hattie.

Hattie married Louis P. Lamoureaux. Other than that I have no info on this family. Can't find them in any other census.

PLATTSBURGH -- Mr. James J. Mousseau, 57, of the Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side, following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 21, 1948, the son of James and Marion (Garrant).

Jim was a physical education teacher at Beekmantown Central School for 25 years, retiring due to ill health. While at Beekmantown, he coached many different sports.

He was predeceased by his father, James Mousseau.

Jim is survived by his children, James Mousseau and his girlfriend Leanna Welch of Plattsburgh, Jennifer Duffy and her husband Marc of Plattsburgh and their son Samuel; his mother, Marion Mousseau of Plattsburgh; three sisters, Mary Jane Rascoe and her husband William of Wymouth, Mass., Debbie Sears and her husband Terry of Beekmantown and Ruth Boismenu and her husband Brett of Liverpool, N.Y.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. from St. Peter's Church.

Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Beekmantown Booster Club.

PLATTSBURGH — Clifford F. Mousseau, 85, of Salmon River Road, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 25, 1916, son of the late Francis and Lorena (Newell) Mousseau.

Clifford had attended St. Peter’s School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed by D and H Railroad for 17 years and then Georgia Pacific Paper Mill, retiring from there in 1980. Clifford was a member of American Legion Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh, the Keeseville Lodge of Elks 2072, Knights of Columbus Council 7248 in Treadwells Mill and a member of St. Augustine’s Church in Peru.

Clifford is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary F. and Cathy Mousseau of Athens, N.Y., and Denis C. and Shannon M. Mousseau of Peru; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jack Baker of Morrisville and Tammy and William Upton of Chazy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Barbara Mousseau of Florida and Barney and Roseanne Mousseau of Elizabethtown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Winifred and James Wilson of Auburn and Jane and William Miner of Plattsburgh; eight grandchildren, Cherie, Mark, Shawn, Chad, Corey, Derick, Michael and Ryan; two great grandchildren, Felix and Jaden; and several nieces and nephews.

Clifford was predeceased by two sons, Mark Mousseau and Todd Mousseau; his wife, Florence Mousseau; three brothers, Walter Mousseau, Arnold Mousseau and Marvin Mousseau.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15th, at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Members of the Knights of Columbus will meet 7:30 Tuesday evening for services. Looking for information on Peter(1857) and Laura (1864)Mousso from the Dannemora/Plattsburgh area of NY. Peter born in Canada (perhaps St Johns). Thought perhaps to be an "adopted" Mousso. The had 12 children, and Laura possibly remarried and had more. They also had a son Peter Jr., Edward, James; daughters Minnie and Dellimae...I found them in 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920 census, but cannot locate any other info.

I would like to exchange some information with you regarding the Dehetre family. I have scanned the original baptismal records for Jerome Deshetres and Therese Cousineau, as well as their marriage record. In exchange, I would love the death notices, obits, and any other information you have on Jeremie and Angeline. I know for a fact that Jerome Deshetres and Therese Cousineau had a son named Jerome/Jeremie who was born in Ste. Genevieve, along with 5 other siblings (Marthe, Marie Genevieve, Damase, Marguerite, Alexandre). After 1811, they are no longer listed in the records of Ste. Genevieve. I know they must have stayed relatively local, as some of these children grew up and married in parishes not far from Ste. Genevieve - Ste. Marthe, St. Madeleine de Rigaud, and St. Benoit. I also know there is at least one other child, possibly more born to Jerome (and probably Therese) after 1811 (Jean Baptiste), because I found a marriage record for him listing his parents as Jerome Dehetre and Helene Cousineau. Maybe by sharing information, we can make the final connection.

Albert Champagne from Huron Co. MI, Vermont, Canada

Trying to find Albert Champagne (b.1844 in Quebec? Canada, d. 1929 in Huron Co. MI) prior to coming to Michigan. He maried Emily Lenaway (Lenoiu) about 1870. I don't know where.
I have him arriving in 1868 with his father, I believe from Canada into Rutland area of Vermont. I think his fathers name was Gregory or Gregorie. Gregory's father may also have been named Albert and he is said to have come from France.
Gregory was a master marble and stone cutter. They were also in the maple syrup business in Rutland. Albert did not get along with his father and moved to Michigan, first to the Port Hope/Grindstone area, and then to Huron Co. He first shows up in the 1880 census in Huron Co. MI. as Albert Champigne.
Albert was influential in getting St. Felix Catholic Church established near his home in Chandler Twp.
There may be indian blood mixed in somewhere between the first Albert and Gregory. Someone had married a woman from an indian reservation. I don't know who or where.
When Albert came to Michigan, he was quite wealthy. He had $35,000 in the bank of Kinde. And his three daughters, Elizabeth(Mousseau), Ann(Reno), and Josephine(Mousseau) went to a New York finishing school.
There may have been a name change in the moving to Michigan. Also, he spoke only French so names are subjective as we only have oral history from the Mousseaus.
Any help would be great.

I'm looking for the descendents of Ted Mousseau. He was my grandfathers Wilfred Mousseau's brother and moved away from Sturgeon Falls (we think to the Montreal Area) His parents were Larriviere/Mousseau. We were told that he did have 2 sons but cannot find anything on their whereabouts.

All I know is what is on my Grandfather's Massachuette's birth certificate...the name Jeremie Mousseau was listed as father, place of birth, Canada and occupation: woodchopper. I dont think he married my Gr. Grandmother Sarah Cote because she may have been married to another man at the time, a David Desbiens.
