A few years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Lucien Martin. He and his wife spent many years searching the Mouton's and Martin's family tree. They have written a book called, "The Mouton's". I purchased five books for each of my children. I have not been in contact with him lately. I have visited with them, and have just enjoyed sitting and listening to the stories. They live in Lafayette on Pont de Mouton Road. I'm not sure if there are many books available. It is an interesting book.

Most of the information I have is on Maggie as I can't remember Willis. Maggie died in Texas in the 60's. Most of their children have also died. They have grandchildren and great grandchildren in Texas. If you would like the information I have please state your relationship and email me directly at sandra@sowensmartin.com.

I'm writing concerning my research. My GreatGrandmother was Azelia Lemaire of Forkedisland. I believe she was born in Abbeville. She married my GreatGrandfather Thomas Rider from the Ville Platte area they raised their all 11 children near Forkedisland and later settled and died in Lake Arthur, LA.. In my search I found her to be on the Mouton family tree. My father has passed on now but he told me that we kin to the ex- Sheriff Ray Lemaire I wanted to know is this the same family. Because I found some info on line. Please let me know Sincerely,lmire1

I am looking for anyone who may have information on Albert Michael Kotch or Thack. He was born in 1920 in ? PA but I believe the family moved to New Jersey Middlesex County. Perth Amboy was the last place he lived before entering the Military.(served 1940?-1944) I believe his birth name was Kotch but he changed it to thack prior to military service. He died in 1983 in Fresno CA. I also have a clue that he may have lived in Tulsa, OK. He was married for a brief period during his military service to Ann Mouton from Lafayette, LA They had one son Michael Albert Thack. He spent a few months in Jail in 1944 for Check Fraud in Reno Nevada. His mothers maiden name according to the CA Death Register was Balasic.

I am a Bossier and interisted in the Lambre' side of my family.
All I have now is;Sylvester Bossier married : Marie Jeanne Lambre' Oct,17th 1787 at Natchitoches Post LA.( her parents were;Jean Lambre and Marie Le Vasseur). Also his brother Francois Paul Bossier married a Lambre', Catherine
Pelagie Lambre on May 18th 1780, at Natchitoches Post.
They are the parrents of The Gen. Pierre Bossier; who Bossier city was named after in 1844. I wondered if these Bossier brothers married Lambre sisters? It says Marie Jeanne Lambre was born around 1774 in New Orleans. If any one has this info I would love it. (colette95@msn.com).

Hi Peggy,

I am also researching the Borigo family on behalf of my husband who tells me that the Borigo surname is Spanish. If so, the wife of a Borigo might have kept her maiden name in keeping with the Spanish tradition. Ancestry.com recently ran an article on researching Spanish ancestors that you might want to check out.

Good luck!

Joan
