My grandmother was Cora Moye and was married to James Vinson. She had a brother William Moye. He lived in Goldsboro n.c. The were from LaGrange N.c. I cannot find any info on the family or the names of her parents. She also had a sister named Pearl who moved to Florida. Any info. on this family would be appreciated. contact me marybryan@svic.net

My great-great grandfather was William Moye, of Pitt Co. NC. His son, John David MoyeI also had a daughter he named Cora, which was my Dad's aunt. I am sure these are related.If you search the Moye/Kilpatrick files, you may find what you need. Good luck.

Mary: My Dad had an aunt they called Cora. Her name is legally listed Coraetta. Her father was John David Moye. His father I think was William Moye. I do not know of any brothers named William though. This family originated in Pitt County, N.C. but moved into the Virginias. I know all of these link in some way. Lena, my mother is cora's youngest daughter.Cora was married to James Vinson. As far as I know they always lived in New Bern, N.C. My grand father died when my mother was 4 yrs. old. Cora had a brother named William.He lived in Goldsboro n.c. until he died. I have never heard any mention of my great grandparents. My mother's mind has left her and I can't get any information from her. Cora had a sister named Pearl and she lived in Florida. None of my cousins ever heard the names of the greagrandparents. A lot of mothers family lived around Portsmoth Va. I don't know if this will help you or not. If I get any more info I will let you know.

I know that Pearl and some of the names you mentioned fit in. In time I will fit all this together. I think my granddad's sister Cora was named after your Cora. My great--great grandfather William had a sister, I think named Pearl or Pearl was his aunt. Anyway I am slowly piecing all together. Keep in contact. Glad to hear from you. Have tried to find Moye-Kilpatrick files and no luck. Tried to download file on John David Moye and couldn't open it. I am a novice at the computor and on family search. I talked to my mother and she was able to tell me her grandparents lived in Virgina. For some reason she was a little upset that I asked, which is weird.
