POLAND, OH -Edward W. Mrenak, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb 6, 2012 at his home.
“Ed” was born July 24, 1923, in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania a son of the late Frank and Victoria (Wagner) Mrenak.
Ed was a 1941 graduate of Hickory High School.
He served in the Army/Air Force during World War II.
He retired in 1987 after 34 years at GM Lordstown, Ohio plant in the Jig and Fixture Department.
Ed was a life member of the VFW Post No. 892. He was also a member of the American Legion, and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed camping and golfing. He also loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed.
Ed leaves his wife of 47 years, the former Twyla Ludwig, whom he married Oct. 3, 1964; two daughters, Debbie (Tim) Daley of Struthers, Ohio and Kathy (Tom) Sheely of Haltom, Texas; four grandchildren, Stacy (Frank) DeMain of Poland, Ohio, Tricia (Phil) Missos of New Middletown, OH; TJ (Kristina) Daley of Poland, and Jacquelyn Sheely of Haltom, TX; four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Addison DeMain and Evyenia and Melina Missos; and a brother, Raymond (Kay) Mrenak of Hickory, Pa.
Ed was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Mrenak.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in McKeesport, Pa.
