I have been searching for Alwine/Alvine/Alvina Mroch my great grandmother for many years. I may have found her, but need more information. Alwine was 10 months of age upon arriving according to http://www.immigrantships.net/v8/1800v8/jupitor18671203.html
and the 1880 census confirms this. My only other information about Alwine is oral history and a death certificate that shows my great grandmother as dying in 1902 at age 29. The Alwine I have found would have been 35 in 1902, but I would not necessarily rule her out as being the Alwine Mroch who married my great grandfather, Samuel Lachmann. I am hoping someone with more knowledge of the Mroch family can help me solve this, even if it turns out to be the wrong person.

Below is some more data I have found which may help identify Alwine.

I found the five Mrochs listed in the Subject at the Castle Garden website. http://www.castlegarden.org/quick_search_result.php?p_first_...
They arrived from Germany on 3 Dec 1867 via the Jupiter.

At HeritageQuest I found a census listing for 1900 showing Ferdinand and Caroline living in Detroit, MI.

Now I have found the family in the 1880 Census with five children Alvina (Alwine)13, Albert 10, Bertha 7, William 4, and Anna 1. Both census records show them living on Watson Street in Detroit.

So in the 20 years from 1880 to 1900 Ferdinand and Caroline became "empty nesters" it would appear. My great grandparents Samuel and Alvine lived in Chicago, IL so if this is "my" Alvine, they would have had to meet and marry sometime after 20 Feb 1891, which is when my great grandfather immigrated and settled in Chicago.

All comments and clues welcome!
