I am hoping to make contact with the descendants of the CHILDREN of Johann Heinrich MUECKE and his wife Caroline RABE Muecke. Caroline was the last of
"Henry" MUECKE's 3 wives. She married "Henry" MUECKE in 1852 at Fayette County, Texas.

I feel there were 4 children from this "last" MUECKE marriage: Augusta, August, Alfred, and Wilhelm. These children appear in federal census records of the 1860's, 1870's, and 1880's of FAYETTE COUNTY, TEXAS.

If you are descended from any of these 4 MUECKE children please get in touch- THANKS!

Robert Muecke b.1847 in Germany

Trying to find any information about a Robert Muecke (b. 1847) who married Josephine Engel(b. 1854). They immigrated to the USA around 1884-1886 and lived in Humboldt, Kansas.

Some information that I've found and am not 100% sure about is that Josephine was the daughter of an Austrian baker, while Robert was a stone mason and a wine-maker.

I do know they had a son named John Robert Muecke (1890 - 1946) who grew up in Humboldt, Kansas. I was able to find his WWI Draft Registration Card and he eventually married Lucky M Thielen (1901 - 2000) and had 4 children. When he passed away in 1946 he was buried at Saint Patricks Cemetery in Madison County, Iowa.

Any information would be greatly appreciated as I've seem to hit a brick wall in my search.

I will take time to look but haven't found that yet. A lady in Bellville, Austin Co. Texas named Joy Neely could probably also help ya, I have her email address and will try to get it to ya via email. I will see if I can find that and email ya back. But try those searches.

Your info. sounds pretty much right on from what I have. I am a descendant of Augusta's brother, Johann Heinrich Muecke, Jr. I am also working with a Muecke in Huntsville, TX, (Billye Muecke) probably the same one you got your info. from. I wish we could go back further than Johann Heinrich Muecke, Sr., born in 1802. Have you been able to track his ancestors?
Thanks,
Patsy in Texas

My family (Muecke) also came from Steesow (or Silesia?) Prussia. I have gone back as far as Johann Heinrich Muecke, born in 1802 in Steesow, Prussia. His descendants came over on the "Orient" in 1846 to Texas. Do you have any info on this branch of the Muecke's.
Thanks, Patsy (Muecke) Watkins

muecke sounds like mickey

Jumped on this Surname board by curiousity only. Read a few postings and must agree with where some of them came from. Last name spelled Mucke, with double dots over the u. Which is the short form in German for ue therefore...Muecke.

The history of the Mickey family in NC has its beginnings at the old Unitas Fratum (Moravian) settlement of Herrnhaag, near Marienborn in what was East Germany. Herrnhaag was the second and largest of the European centers established by Count Zinzendorf for the "Unity of Brethern". Many members of this peculair religious sect left from there to live and work in other Moravian settlements around the world. So it was on May 27, 1743 twenty-four couples destined for the new Moravian settlement of Nazareth, PA were married at Marienborn in a single wedding ceremony. Among them were Johann Michael Muecke and Eva Catherine Muenzer.
Very little is known about Johann Michael except that he was probably born in Pilau, Silesia (now part of Czechoslovakia and Poland). Eva Catherine came from Boeckingen, near present-day Heilbronn, Germany. Shortly after their marriage, the newlyweds left for America. After traveling overland to Rotterdam, Holland, they sailed aboard the Moravian ship "Little Strength" on September 16, 1743, as a part of the "second Sea Congregation". Following an intermediate stop at Cowes, England, they arrived in New York City on November 26, 1743. Finally, travelling by foot, they reached Nazareth on December 6, 1743. Johann and Eva spent the remainder of their lives in PA where they served in the Moravian schools at Frederickstown and other places. They had five sons, born in PA, before Eva died in 1755. The name evolved over the years to Mickey and one of their descendants came to Winston-Salem, NC when they were setting up a Moravian settlement there. Lots of Mickey's there and that is where I found hubby. Have much more info on the PA, and NC Muecke (Mickey) if anyone thinks there is a link.

There were two brothers who came about 1870 from Schwusen, Glogau, Liegnitz, Lower Silesia, Germany (now called Wiszanow).

My line is descended from Friedrich (b. 1/30/1825, d. 9/21/1898).
