DES MOINES, Iowa -- John Bernard Mulcahy, 57, Des Moines, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1946, in Washington.
He graduated from Washington High School in 1964.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from June 1964 to May 1967.
He spent many years living and working in Apache Junction, Ariz., and drove truck for the last 15 years. He returned to Iowa in 2003.
He loved to fish and visit with friends and family. He lived for NASCAR, Jeff Gordon and racing.
Survivors include two sons, John 'Bubba' of Iowa City and James 'Red' of North Liberty; a brother, Rick Miller of Washington; three sisters, Susan West Ballenberger and of Des Moines, Laura Miller and Connie Mann, both of Muscatine; and his fiance, Beverly Matthews of Mount Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Mulcahy and Mildred C. Miller; and his stepfather, George B. Miller.
