My great grandmother was Alice Susan Mulhall and she married George "Doc" Heavrin and lived near Clarkson. They help raise my mother and her 3 brothers when my grandmother died. Thomas Mulhall Sr. and Jr. were my mothers lawyers. Do you know how McClellan or if McClellan is in Mulhall's history. My email is jjjrc1@insightbb.com

Hi Carmel
My name is Kathleen Gallagher ( nee Leatham.
My mum was Cathie McKenna and my dad Willie Leatham.
When I was a child we went to stay with a lovely family called the Mulhalls, relations of my mum. I remember they had 2 flats knocked together on the one landing. we stayed with them for about a week one summer and I remember there were quite a few children one of whom was called Carmel. I had never heard that christian name before. I think the town was Bray and the year must have been about 1963 or thereabouts. I am an only child so I really enjoyed the company of the children. Please let me know if you remember me.
From Kathleen x

I am looking for more information pertaining to my great-grandfather Peter Mulhall Sr. He was born in Waterbury, CT in 1892. He married Marie (Kelley) Mulhall (d. 1942). Peter Sr.'s parents were Patrick Mulhall (d. 1916) and Catherine O'neil (d.1940) whom immigrated from Ireland in 1887 to Waterbury, CT however area from which they immigrated from is unknown.

Also seeking information where I can find Patrick Mulhall who immigrated in 1887.

Any additional infromation is much appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Kathryn Bottinick

University of Connecticut, Storrs

Several years ago, you sent an email to readers about your find on the Mulhall Family. If you are still willing and the material is still available, please send me a copy. Joseph McClelland MULHALL is the great grand uncle of Mary Eileen MOONEY (my wife). Their common ancestors are Joseph MULHALL and Rebecca BRADLEY.

Mulhall's Indiana and Illinois

Seeking further Geneology. I am a great greanddaughter to George Martin Mulhall, who was born 1884, Illinois, wife Catherine Connelly who died around 1919 (SS Rec. 1922) in child birth. He worked in S. Chicago as a R.R. switchman. George later maried Mabel. Were his parents born in Ireland or USA? Family only spoke of his house hold and Irish accent though not of his siblings. I have not found direct links for him in earlier census's. A great portion of the 1890 census records are not availabe due to complications involving a fire in 1921. Does he have siblings, I would love to know how the extended family branches into the Mulhall's in Ireland? It would be good to know the wives maiden names also. If anyone recognizes this family pattern I'd love to build on the family tree. jeanne.lanning@yahoo.com

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Al W. Mulhall Jr. and Rose”, taken July 1896 with another couple, and I’d like to get it back to descendants or family members. Each of them looks to be in their 20s.

I found Alfred W. Mulhall in the 1900 census for Park City (Summit Co.) UT, with wife Rose, who he married in 1898.His birthdate was May 1876 in NY and she was born Nov 1876 in UT. In the 1880 census for Salt Lake City, I found Alfred Jr., age 5, living with parents Alfred and Fannie.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Alfred or Rose Mulhall.

Mulhall's in Frontenac

I have traced my father's family back to the 1861 Canadian Census. His great grandmother Sarah Mulhall is listed as an innkeeper in Kingston, his grandfather James was also listed and was 11 years old at that time. There was no male Mulhall listed around the same age as Sarah but she is listed as married not a widow. I have found a reference to a Thomas Mulhall in a Kingston City directory for 1857 and he is listed as an innkeeper so maybe that was her husband. Anyone related or does anyone have any ideas on how I can further search with this information.

It's been a while since you've posted this, but I'll respond anyway. :)

My grandfather is the son of Lillie Mae, daughter of Joseph M. Mulhall and Theresa Ann (Burch) Mulhall. My grandfather told me many times that he believed his mom's side was Irish, and that at some point, their name might have been O'Mulhall. I have done some research. There is a book "The of Irish Names", by Ida Grehan. It suggests that Mulhall originated from O'Maolchathail (Not sure if this is Gaelic?). Another book "Irish Families: Their names, arms, and origins", by Edward Mac Lysaght lists O'Mulhall, which may have also become Mulholland, then Mulholland. My Grandfather said that the family may be connected to William Mulholland, who was born on September 11, 1855 (in Belfast, Ireland). He was obviously a major person in California history. I haven't yet found any verification of this, but that's what I've heard.

I have sent you a family Group Record on Mulhall, Joseph 1813. I noticed that itwas a file of about November and I may have minor changes even to this file. It gives us a starting point.
I am subscribed to ancestry.com, U.S. I may switch back to World next year. It's a lot more expensive.

Can we exchange addreses? So much faster. Can you read .rtf? A lot of the Mulhall material that I have is without valid citations. I began this quest many years ago and didn't know any better. I also collected material of questionable validity. My primary email are: jkk358@aol.com and jk358@gmail.com

Nice to read your reply. Maybe you can shed some light on the Mulhall family from whatever you know. You are the only other person i'bve come in contact with who has used Thomas's middle name of Kempis. Do you know where that came from? i'd be very interested in any information/ pictures/ stories you would care to share over the coming months. I have tried unsuccessfully to get in touch with melvin since our last exchange, but have had no luck. until we talk again, I wish you a happy holiday season.

Hi, Melvin and Shannon! I have enjoyed your exchange of information on the Mulhalls. Thomas Kempis MULHALL Sr. is the 3rd great grandfather of Mary Eileen MOONEY (my wife). (Coomes, Thompson, Mulhall, Bradley) I am the "family historian" and am always seeking ways to polish the trees. I have not fully digested all of your posts and will do so in the coming months. I need to compare citations on some of the children of Thomas J. There are a few differences.

My Great grandfather William S Henslee from Amarillo T worked and traveled with with the Mulhall ranch and rodeo show. According to a Newspaper article (Amarillo TX) relating to Lucille's death, my grandfather was interviewed and stated she was his "best friend" and that he had taught her how to ride a horse when she was 13. My grandfather was a well known rodeo cowboy but I am having a hard time finding him in any Oklahoma records...If anyone has a list of employees of the Mulhall ranch prior to 1898 (when he left Oklahoma) I would be greatly appreciative!

I scanned a journal that was kept by Teresa Ann Burch, married to Joseph McClelland Mulhall. Many of the entries are transactions of food and hardware items from their farm on the Hardin/Grayson county line near Big Clifty. There are birthdates for many family members and references to some of their relatives such as Kendrick and Rebecca Bradley.

I would be happy to send copies by email or regular mail to anyone interested.

In response to your query, I have determined that my grandmother Mary Agnes Mulhall was the second daughter of Joseph M Mulhall and Teresa Ann Mulhall (nee Burch). They moved from Elizabethtown Kentucky to Los Angeles California in 1912 to start a business building houses in the San Fernando Valley. In several family photos around about the time of the move is a dog "Spot" in each picture. I know they had 10 children of which five died very young. I don't have much additional information yet.

Hey Melvin! While going through my mother-in-laws scrapbook, I came across a newspaper article from 1905 showing a Deputy Sheriff L. Fuller Gross purchasing the J.M. Mulhall house in the suburbs of Elizabethtown. (See attached) Any relation?

Last year an ancestry.com researcher confirmed that 'Minton' is really McClelland, and that sisters Susan and Rebecca Bradley married brothers Thomas and Joseph Mulhall. I just posted a picture of Joseph McClelland Mulhall (with his dog, Spot) in the 'Canada Felten' tree.

Phillip Mulhall is convinced that Susan, Rebecca and Eleanor Bradley are daughters of Elijah Bradley and Elizabeth Lush (instead of Ann Gunning) but I am just confused.

Hello Steve,Years ago I had found a guy's family tree online and it has a Joseph Minton Mulhall born 1862,with his parents listed as Joseph Mulhall & Susan Rebecca Bradley born 4-13-1822 died 7-5-1904,It has Susan R. as Joseph's 2nd wife married 9-30-1840 in Hardin Co.,Ky. and devoriced 1850,So my guess would be the devorice date is wrong or Joseph Minton's mother was Joseph's 3rd wife. This is a list of his info as the children of Joseph Mulhall & Susan Rebecca Bradley Mulhall >> Julia A. 1844-1923,Thomas A. 1845-1853,Mary E.1846-?,William Worth 1848-?,Anna Eliz. 1854-?,Francis Kendrick 1858- 1935,Joseph Minton 1862-?........It has Joseph Mulhall's << Husband of Susan Rebecca parents as Thomas A. Mulhall & Ann Gunning.Hope this helps

(1928) He has lots of photos and his research shows Rebecca, Susan and Eleanor Bradley as Elijah and Mary Logsdon's grandchildren. I did not change my tree to reflect that, pending corroboration.

There was a Father Mulhall who built a log cabin church in Hodgenville, Larue County: Saint Joachim Catholic Chapel. The cemetery is still there. The Mulhall/Bradley family sold the land where Lincoln's cabin was in Hodgenville (Hwy 31-E and Hwy 84)

My mother-in-law has a pre-civil war journal from Lillie Mae Mulhall that shows her buying a dozen eggs from Rebecca Bradley, and has records such as birthdates for a lot of the Mulhalls.

Joseph McClelland Mulhall moved to California about 1920 and built a house where North Hollywood High School now stands. I have lots of info and pictures of that branch of the family, if you are interested. I'd love to see the picture of Susan Bradley if you get it from Melvingross.

I've never been able to find out anything more about Thomas Mulhall from Donegal County, Ireland

Hello, melvin! How exciting to find a new relative! I am appreciative that you emailed me bk. My full name is Shannon Marie Mulhall Recktenwald(married name) and while I no longer live in Louisville, I still get bk there about every one and a half years to visit family. I grew up in Louisville and spent most of my life there. My parents, including my father still live in Louisville though as does most of my family. My G, Robert Omar, has 2 living children: my father , Robert Burke Mulhall b. 1944 and my aunt, Ann Hughes Mulhall Williams. Ann was a twin, but her twin died at birth. Robert Omar had another daughter, Mary who died in the 70's , I think of a brain tumor. My oldest living relative is Alice Jane Carothers, My Grandmother's sister. I am contacting her now to see if she has any helpful information. I will share any info I get with you.
I don't remember any of my G's siblings except Eula and I only have flashes of memeories of her since I didn't see her much, but sometimes I would go with my dad to visit "aunt Eula" before she passed. I will ask my dad and aunt if they have any stories or info that they can share about Robert Omar's sibs or other family memebers.
My dad is currently trying to get in contact with a man who once wtote a booklet on the mulhall's in ky and who still lives in Louisville. Once he gets that info, I will be glad to share with you. Likewise, I would love for you to share as much of your information about the Mulhall's descendanted from Thomas A.Mulhall Jr. & Susan Bradley as you are willing to share, including susan's photo. I have no photos so I would be excited to see what she looks like. You can email the picture to me if you like or I can give you my mailing address. whatever you prefer. What is your mom's name? does she or your aunt have any stories or info they would like to share? I would very much appreciate if you would ask your cousin if he remembers anything about Thomas. This is all so exciting...yet frustrating at times as well. It's like a giant puzzle.
My dad is really interested in learning about the path his relatives used to get to ky -- did they come through the Cumberland Gap for example? I don't know how to get this kind of information though. Do you? Do you live in Nelson/Hardin County? I wonder if you have been to any of the Mulhall gravesites or know where Thomas and his decendants are buried?
I will let my dad know that we've connected as he is very interested in all the information I am finding out. I don't know if Robert Omar was named after Omar Nelson, but it could be. That is done alot, I have come to understand through all my research.
Again, I appreciate your writing me bk and I look forward to hearing from you again. Please excuse any typing errors: a typist, I am not. Thanks again,
Sincerely, Shannon

Hello, melvin. I am a direct relative of the mulhalls you speak of. My Grandfather was Robert Omar who was a railroad telegrapher. I don't know much personally about the Mulhall side of the family since my grandfather died before I was born. I do know that Thomas A's father was Thomas kempis Mulhall(b. 1780 in ireland, d. 1861 in Hardin,ky) who was married to Ann Gunning(b. 1782 in Maryland, died 1860 hardin, ky) These were their children:
Children

Joseph Mulhall 1817-1900
William Xavier Mulhall 1818-1880
Thomas Mulhall 1819-1901
Robert Edward Mulhall 1821-1901
Thos. A. Mulhall 1824-1901
Margaret Ann Mulhall 1827-1888
James P Mulhall 1828-1884

I am stumped right now at finding information about Thos. K's trip over to the US.
Any info at all that you have on the Mulhall family, stories, pictures, memories, etc. I would love to see/hear.Anything would be appreciated.Robert Omar's son is still living in louisville. He is my dad. I look forward to hearing from you.
