I would like to put in a word for my published "Documentary History of the English-Speaking
Mullis Family," so titled, which came out first in 1984 and now has undergone considerable up-dating and corrections... To my knowledge, I was the first to publish such a work on our family, and especially on the thesis that there was/is an
English Mullis family which may be documented back to 1066 A.D. in
England, and before that, to
Normandy, France.
I endeaver to clearly identify sources throughout, and include such items as Probates from 1295 AD, military service records which stretch back to 11th century through 1500s, selected
Parish Records from 1500s, and then renew the documented tracing of the family in Colonial
America beginning in 1658, based on
Gift Deeds, Land Transfers, Militia and
Court Accounts, Estate Inventories, Tax List sources, petitions, etc., ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING I've been able to locate specifically recording actual
Mullis individuals, through the year 1774 in Pre-Revolutionary
North Carolina.
I also enjoy helping people trace their respective
Mullis lineages, from 1774 through about 1880....
Thank you,
W. Arthur Mullies
