MULLIS ORIGINS IN U.S.

I would like to put in a word for my published "Documentary History of the English-Speaking Mullis Family," so titled, which came out first in 1984 and now has undergone considerable up-dating and corrections... To my knowledge, I was the first to publish such a work on our family, and especially on the thesis that there was/is an English Mullis family which may be documented back to 1066 A.D. in England, and before that, to Normandy, France.

I endeaver to clearly identify sources throughout, and include such items as Probates from 1295 AD, military service records which stretch back to 11th century through 1500s, selected Parish Records from 1500s, and then renew the documented tracing of the family in Colonial America beginning in 1658, based on Gift Deeds, Land Transfers, Militia and Court Accounts, Estate Inventories, Tax List sources, petitions, etc., ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING I've been able to locate specifically recording actual Mullis individuals, through the year 1774 in Pre-Revolutionary North Carolina.

I also enjoy helping people trace their respective Mullis lineages, from 1774 through about 1880....

Thank you,

W. Arthur Mullies A75551@aol.com

Is the publication "Documentary History of the English-Speaking Mullis Family" available for purchase? I have been doing geneology research on my family for several years, and have a copy of the "Mullis Melange" by Barbary Parsons. The description of your document seems like it may compliment hers.

Thanks

Sam

I have portions of your work on disk garnered from the LDS library in Salt Lake...it's an excellent work and I highly recommend it to all who have not sought it out to read. It hasn't been "any" help to me YET as I can't get past the GA Mullis clan: Edison Mullis b. 1857; but I have no doubts it will be soon. Thank you for all your fine work.

Dear William,
I just now found your post. My ggg-grandmother is Nancy Mullis b. March 01, 1804 in Virginia married to John Newman.
Her Tomb Stone says she is from Virginia.
So I would very much like to have your book. I hope you still have some left. Please let me know.
Yours truly,
Brenda Moss

Suggest you try Barbara Culp Parsons' MULLIS MELANGE for Edison MULLIS b. 1857; my copy not at hand, so I know not if he is in it. Please contact via AOL. Good luck!

I haven't see a copy of the Melange...but I understood it didn't go down into GA. Edison Mullis lived in GA, but I think he was born in NC. Once I get that link I will be able to go further and I think really use the Melange.

Hello,

I am the youngest daughter of Rheba Vearl Mullis Stone. She was the daughter of Joseph S Mullis and Maggie (probably Margaret). Most of my grandfathers family was from Fargo, Ga. area. When I knew them, they lived in Valdosta. Her sisters were; Flossie, Addy, Annie, & Ila Pearl and she had one brother Harry. I know very little about most of my aunts and their families. Flossie and Addy lived in Jacksonville and I do remember going there to visit them. (Ila) Pearl and Annie lived in Valdosta. Of these two, Pearl is the one I remember best. She and my mother were close. She married Maston Henry Harnage and had three sons; Tom and Joe(twins) and Henry. I believe Tom lives north of Valdosta, and Henry is outside of Atlanta. Henry has a daughter, Rebekah, that is also trying to get information on the Mullis side of the family. If you can give me any new information it would be greatly appreciated. My mother died when I was twelve and I saw her last when I was ten. Contact with her side of the family was almost non-existant. I do know that there is a family reunion at Twin lakes outside of Valdosta every summer. My sisters and I plan to attend the one in 2004. It would be great to meet you there.
I am anxious to hear from you.
Nancy
