I am searching for a Willie Frank Mullis b. 1888 or 1890. He was married to a Bessie Beavers b 1884. Both were born in North Carolina and both were said to be cherokee indians although listed as white on the 1930 censos Charlotte NC.
Do you know of any ties to the cherokee indians? Do you know his parents?

Without knowing what county--general locality, at least--it would be impossible to investigate those people. Cherokee
connection may indicate vicinity of Ash Co. (NW N. C.), as
others say Mullis-Cherokee unions occurred there in late 1800s. My census on Mullis from that area date from 1830s to 1880, and they were from Wilkes/Iredel/Surry counties prior to 1830.

My great Grandma was Amanda Mullis.
She married Thomas Rowlett. Amanda & Thomas had a daughter Laura Elsie Rowlett on April 12, 1906. Laura was born in Brown County, Indiana.
I do not know who Amanda's parents are for sure or where the Mullis family comes from. Do any of you show your Mullis lines in Indiana ?

What can you tell me about John Mullis who had three wives, one being Susan Dancer?
I believe he was son of Richard and Elizabeth ???? Mullis with Richard son of John Mullis and Elizabeth Edwards.

John Mullis and Susan Dancer had a son Solomon R Mullis who M Mary Jane Griffin whos son Holden m Luretia Adams.
