My grandfather was George Peter Franklin Muncie, born 1884 in Brazil, IN, died 1983 in Jackson, MS. His father was Wilson Albert Muncie, born 1861, died 1936 in Brazil, IN. He married Emma Elizabeth Ealey. My grandfather had brothers (Wesley Winchester, William M., Rex, Ray and Sampson) and one sister, Wealthy Frances (Fannie).
Wilson Albert's parents were Peter Muncy II and Caroline Lucas. One of his brothers, William Rasnic Muncie, convinced some of the family to change the spelling of the name according to my grandfather.
Most of the people above are buried in Union Cemetery in Brazil, IN.
Peter Muncy II was born in Kentucky in 1828 so he may be the first in the family in Brazil.

I would like to make contact with other family members, or researchers concerning JORDAN MUNCIE b. 1844 in Estill County, Kentucky. Spelling of our last name was not consistent in the 1800s. Some documents have our family name spelt MUNCY. What I have so far on Jordan are three census documents, possible service with the union army Company B, wife’s name Mary Jane Abney b. 1845, two children that I know of are Elijah b.1844 and Isaac b. abt. 1868. I would like know if they had more the two children. Was Mary his only wife and were did they died and are buried.

My name is Mark Richard Muncie. Like most within these forums, I am an amateur genealogist at best, nevertheless I have truly enjoyed what I have done on and off for around 15 years. Isaac Shelby Muncie and Mary Elizabeth (Neal) Muncie are my Great-Great-Great-Grandparents. My Muncie lineage runs from Isaac Muncie (1818-1902), Jordan Muncie (abt 1842/44-abt 1878), Elijah L. Muncie (1865-1941), Elton R. Muncie (1911-2000), Daniel R. Muncie (1936-alive, but ailing) and ((me))Mark R. Muncie (1957-alive). Victor Muncie was my uncle. My dad was Fred V Muncie. They had a brother, Albert J Muncie. My dad was born 8/27/14, and died 2/20/89. Uncle Albert was born 7/7/11, and died 3/3/99. They also had a sister, Nora Sunderland, who died when I was a young child. I was told that dad was born in Italy and that none of the boys could speak English when starting school. Also their name was Mangini, but the teacher could not pronounce it, so she changed it to Muncie. Please e mail me, at adanflous@aol.com.

Would have been in the NE Texas area around 1960-61 possibly working as a plumber in or around Longview TX. Not quite 6' with dark hair and brown / green eyes. Am looking for the parents of Victor R. Muncie. Supposedly born in Windber, Somerset County Pa. But no record there of his birth in 1899. Marriage liscense says his parents are Paul and Emma Richards Muncie. But can't find them anywhere. Victor married Helen Catherine Metzger in Columbus, Franklin County Ohio. This is where they lived for awhile then moved to North Carolina for awhile then moved back to Columbus. He died in California in 1985. Need help on this line they seem to hide from me. My gg grandmother was Phoebe Muncie. She was married to walter Baughman. I know that he died in Brazil, IN. Like you, though, I don't know anything else about this side of the family. I do have SOME information on the Muncie's, but it is rather sketchy. I corresponded with a distant relative and found that Elizabeth Muncie's father was Thomas Muncy II.
Thomas Muncy II
Died: 1840 Cass County, MI
Married: 1838 to Catherine Bates(I have several generations back on the Bates')
Thomas did have another spouse by the name of Rebecca McCleary.
His parents were Thomas Muncy and Sibbyann.
My GG grandmother did have a brother by the name of Levi Muncy.
Please forgive me if this is information that you already have.
I am originally from Whitley County(right next to Kosciusko)Indiana.

My GG grandmother was Elizabeth Muncie and she was born in Kosciusko county Indiana. I have some Muncie information but I can't seem to locate it. I'll keep looking, but there seems to be little(on my line anyway). When I find what I have, I'll check to see if it ties in with yours.
