My Great great Grandfather was Major WIlliam Moncrief. His was half French and half Choctaw, married Margeret Hall who was full blood Chickasaw, her Native name ws Malhanna (i think thats how its spelled)...They had 5 sons and 6 daughters.William was a Indian Scout for the new Ft. Sill...he died in 1872 at the age of 52 of a "skin condition". After his death his widow ran the stage stop/post office/general store at Pauls Valley. Outside Chickasha Oklahoma on Old Freds road is the Moncrief Cemetery. The land was owned by William and Margaret and they donated the land at the top of the hill east of their house that was also the first house built in the valley...I would very much like ant information anyone may have on William and his family. William's granddaughter Hazel R. Anderson (Holcomb) was my Grandmother and i will be very happy to share what i have with anyone for more information on William and his wife, and his children. WHat happen the children when they grew up? who did they marry? where did they move to? etc etc...thank you for your help, Jena R. Holcomb Shadwick
