DEATH CLAIMS MISS ESTHER BELLE MCLAUGHLIN
Miss Esther BELLE MCLAUGHLIN, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. E. McLaughlin, died suddenly Monday afternoon at the State Hospital, at Morganton, where she had been a patient for several years. Miss MCLAUGHLIN had been at Morganton the past eight years, having been originally at Broadoaks Sanitorium. She was 33 years old. Her critical illness was brief, her family being unaware of it. The body arrived Monday evening on the second train from the west.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock at the MCLAUGHLIN residence, on Davie avenue, conducted by Dr. Charles E. Raynal, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, of which Miss MCLAUGHLIN was a member. The pall-bearers were Mr. R. T. Weatherman, Mr. E. S. Millsaps, Mr. F. E. Bradley, Mr. J. Paul Leonard, Mr. Maurice Stimson, and Mr. C. D. Stimson. Interment was at Oakwood cemetery.
Surviving are her parents and one sister, Mrs. J. S. Talley, of Troutman.
