Looking for my major brick wall, a Doctor Merrill/Murrell who was from Barren Co., KY 1832-1835, moved to TX, lived in Houston area & disappears by 1850. Believe his name was Joseph, but that's just a theory.

Had 2 daughters , Catherine B. & Marguerite Jane. Born 1832 & 1835 Barren Co., KY. No Merrills on the 1830-1840 census of Barren Co, however there was a slew of Murrells. During the 1840's a Dr. Joseph Murrell/Merrill is located in Houston area. He appears in the death notice for Dr. Fowler Wells 1/13/1840. Then there is this :Death of MURELL--The death of this "land pirate" is announced as having lately taken place in Pikesville, Tennessee. A pretty strong proof that he is not living in Texas. "He died of cosumption, and denied to the last moment of his life, that he was guilty of the principal charges against him". 1/1/1845

In 1850 the 2 girls are living w/ Martin Snell & his wife Emily Hadnot. There is a John Snell mentioned in the Barren Co., KY deed book. Catherine married Titus Mundine in 1851, & Marguerite married his brother Francis Mundine in 1858. Anyway, "DR". Merrill/murrell was gone or dead by 1850. ANY clues appreciated! Cindy
