Searching for Thomas J. Mutchler

I'm looking for information about my great grandfather. His name was Thomas Jefferson Mutchler. We don't know much about him except that he left his family in the Washington DC area and went to the Columbus OH area and had another family. He raised Belgian hares and died sometime in the mid-to late 1940s. Thanks for any info.
