I imagine he would have been a Potteries Myatt rather than a Horton Myatt.
I think I've seen some discussion on the this forum somewhere
about Stoke Myatts.

Melanie

Hi

Thanks for this. Yes it is them. Fanny Catharine Myatt was my Grandfather's sister. Her maiden name was Meddings. I am interested in finding her descendants, as I suspect that that might be the best way to find old photographs of her, my grandfather and possibly my great grandparents.

Carl Meddings

Hi Thanks for the message, I've found your line in the H David Myatt book. It's my husband who is a Myatt, his line connects to yours a bit further back, through Richard born 1690 he was brother to your Thomas born 1697. It's actually 10 generations back. This line didn't go far as we still live in Horton. Would to 'talk' more please e-mail me at close.gate@virgin.net

Oh. Raleigh is the capitol of North Carolina. It is in Wake County. I have plenty of details. Please see the attachment. How is your ancestry connected? My grandfather, William Acril(sometimes with a second "l")Myatt was born 22 April 1850 in Wake County, a son of William Alfred Myatt and Amelia Harrison Myatt. His father owned many farms and Myatt’s Mill, a grist mill in Wake County. William Acrill was a descendant of Mark Myatt who was born in England in 1744 and who died in Wake County In 1821. Mark Myatt served as a lieutenant in the Cavalry in Captain Soloman Wood’s company during the Revolutionary War.

Hi Carl
I haven't got Charles, Doris or Phyllis on my tree. Are they the Charles Myatt aged 2 and Doris aged 3 months (Phyllis maybe not yet born)listed with parents James aged 26 and Fanny aged 25 at 119 Florence Road Smethick in the 1901 census. James was born in Birmingham about 1875 if you can trace his parents there may still be a Staffordshire connection.

Happy hunting

Hi Jan,
Yes I have Sophia's birth certificate 11-3-1874 & her marriage certificate to Isaac Jones on 6-11-1892.
But it's her father & his parents I'm having trouble finding info on. Her father William Myatt married her mother Sarah Shepherd on 1-6-1873 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England - have certificate, but I can't find William's birth to comform info I've been give rgards to his parents & siblings. I understand from what I have that William's parents were James Myatt & I think Tabitha Illingworth.
If you could help me with this I'd be most grateful.
I can remember Sophia as I was about 8yrs old when she died around 1958, & I cried because I was not allowed to go to her funeral. She was only about 5ft tall & slim & I know as long as I knew her she was almost blind & always had gray clothes on, so I called her granny gray, which she thought was lovely. I can still see her sitting on the park bench, which was at the end of her street. In around 1891 she was a artist's model.
Thanks
Regards
Brenda

I think the Myatts were potters in Staffordshire in the tale 1700's. Joseph moved to Camberwell in London to set up a market garden. Several of the sons then moved to Evesham area again market gardening and plant breeding.

My Great grandfather was James Myatt, son of James, son of Joseph (think that's correct)

Trying to get this sorted.
Hi! I would like to know if you have more information about Laurent St-Aubin, Marguerite Duguay's husband. I mean info about Jean Simon Benjamin dit St. Aubin's father, Jean Baptiste Benjamin (or Beniamen)? Jean Simon St-Aubin died and was buried in Chambly (March 21st), in 1786, at 83 years old. I would like his birth date and the place where he was baptized. Maybe in the FORT ST. LOUIS of CHAMBLY or elsewhere. He had 11 children of which Laurent, the youngest of all, born & baptized onJune 26, 1750, in Fort Saint-Louis de Chambly. Jeanne Vigeant was his mother. Jean S. is the oldest of his family. His father' name is Jean or Jean Baptiste Benjamin and/or St. Aubin who were living in Dautray (Lanoraie) in about 1705, when Marie Marguerite St-Aubin (Benjamin), his daughter, was baptized in Repentigny on January 12 (born the 8), 1705. She died in 1719, in Montreal. She was "paralytique". In 1715, when Marie Jeanne Benjamin, his another daughter was baptized in Sorel (born on May 7, baptized on May 18, 1715), he was living in Lanoraie, because it is said that she was born in LANORAIE. The name of Lanoraie, at that time was DAUTRAY. This Marie Jeanne Benjamin died and was buried on April 20, 1733, in th FORT ST-LOUIS de CHAMBLY, in presence of HIS FATHER and all the "habitants" of the Fort St-Louis de Chambly. So, the first ancestor Benjamin was still alive in 1733, in Chambly. That was after the marriage of his son, Jean Simon and Jeanne Vigeant who married on November 11th, 1732, in the Fort St. Louis de CHAMBLY. I found 5 children for Jean Simon's father and Jeanne Allard dit Labarre, his mother. His father is surely dead between 1733 and 1745, the year his mother, Jeanne Allard died, on February 22, 1745, in Chambly. So many questions! If you email me, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks for reading me.
steno777777@yahoo.ca

I've reached a "mysterious" dead end in looking for my grandfather's ancestry. His name was Glenn Calvin Myatt (a former pro baseball player) and was born in 1897 in N Little Rock, AR. His father is listed as either Louis Walter Myatt, or Louis Warren Myatt, born about 1860 in SC. Do you have any information? Thanks!

I was wondering if you have anymore on this family. My wife's gggrandfather Joseph Voisard Married a Clothilde Mailhot, I cannot find there marriage record anywhere though most of the children were baptized at St. Antoine de Riviere de Loup Maskinonge & St. Guillaume d'Upton. I know that Abraham Mailhot and Josephte St. Aubin had a daughter Clothilde baptized in 1824 at St. Cyprien in Napierville, and I am trying to prove that they are one and the same. So wondering if you had anything on the children, or infact where Abraham and Josephe may have died?

Thanks Phil

I have ancestors from Charleston who are Myatts. My 3rd great grandmother, Martha Davis Myatt, had a brother named Edward who had a son named Louis who was born around 1856/57 according to the census. If you think this could be your great grandfather, I can send you what else I know about the family. Also, Louis Myatt is in the 1870 and 1880 Census in Charleston, South Carolina. (Ancestry spells the name "Mrott" in the 1870 Census.)
Hi,

I am trying to do a friends genealogy. Her grandmother was Rachel Myatt (I am pretty sure she is the daughter of
James Abraham Myatt and Sarah Elizabeth McIntire). I need to know if anyone knows this info to be correct.

Rachel Myatt married Charles W Scott. I cant find anything on Charles Scott's genealogy. Rachel was born about 1894 and Charles was born about 1880. In the census
there are two kids that can not be Rachel's so Charles must have been married before. This too is a hunch..

Any help would be great! Also..anyone that would like what I have so far is more than welcome to it. I have been digging in the census for weeks now.

Thanks!
Tracy

I am looking for information on Sylvia Rae Mayatt. She was known to friends as RAE MYATT, she was born in Stoke on Trent England in the early 1930's. Rae and my mother trained as nurses together and Rae was to be my mothers bridesmaid (Elizabeth Healey) in September 1958, however Rae and friend Brenda went to Australia in a Nursing capacity for 2 years. My mother had letters from her over the years, however they stopped nearly 20yrs ago and we are not sure what happened. We think that the last place she worked was as a District Nurse in Cranleigh Surrey in the 1960's. She has a sister called Irene.

Thanks Claire

I would like to trace Rae due to it been my parents 50th wedding anniversary in 2008. So if anyone has any information at all please contact me.
