Hi, I am the great granddaughter of Mary Nacey from Liverpool, born late 1800's. Mary married Willis William Warren Brooksby and they lived in the Dingle at Caryl Gardens with their daughter Vera in the 50's and 60's. Are we related ?

Thanks Amanda

But there was a big brother and sister, the mom died, the dad had the kids adopted. Was your father ever called Jim? My dad talks of an uncle jim.

Mary

My grandfather was Edward Nacey, he was a twin, he had at least two sisters, one was his twin, the other was Mary, and he had another brother. He met my grandma near Connelsville Pennsylvania. I know he was Irish. They were all put up for adoption when their mother died, maybe in childbirth. I know that some of the other siblings ended up in Detroit, my dad and uncle tell of a time when they all drove to Detroit so that they could visit, that was the only time.

I'm not sure who I'm related to. I know that my great-grandmother's name was Emma Waid (Wade) Nacey. She married Thomas. I'm curious to know if Patrick (son of Thomas 1797 Ire) had a brother Thomas? I found the info on Patrick & Julia, It looks like they had five or six kids. Did Mary move to Chicago? How do you fit into this puzzle?

Tom, I have not been able to find Thomas and Emma on the 1900 census. Emma's death date in 1930 on the Minnesota Death Certificate Index is not far from Julia's in 1919, and it would be reasonable that they were of the same generation. I found reference to the older Thomas on the 1890 Veteran Schedule as enlisted in 1864 and discharged in 1865, and living in Castle Rock, Dakota County, MN. and of a Thomas Nacey living in Clinton County, Iowa in Clinton Ward 4 in 1870, but I have not seen the films on that as yet, so don't know how old that Thomas was. There were two Thomas Naceys in PA in 1900, a father and son, but from the social security records, it sounded like they stayed there.
By 1900, Patrick and Julia had 14 children, with 10 living and 8 of them listed as living with them in Duluth: Mary, Patrick F, John, Julia, Agnes, Joseph E, Charles, Edward, and Clarence. They did have a 22 yr old nephew living with them too, named John Griffin, who was born in Illinois and was working as a bricklayer. From what I have seen from obituaries, etc, Mary was married to a man whose last name was Walsh, but I don't know their address. Do you know when she died? The 1880 census listed her birthdate as 1874, and I found a birth listing for her in Ramsey County, Feb. 6, 1874.
I have been looking at this family tree because my daughter's paternal grandmother was Pearl Nacey, who was the daughter of Patrick and Julia's son, Joseph E Nacey. They lived in Cleveland. It has been an interesting search.
Yes, Patrick married Julia O Keefe/Keefe and was living in the Duluth area at the time of the 1900 census. Thomas was not listed in the family any longer, but the 1880 census gave his year of birth as 1797. Patrick and some of his sons worked on the railroad in Duluth at that time. Were you and Terri Nacey cousins? I have a fair amount of information on parts of that family who were descendants, but have been trying to get farther back than Patrick when I came across them in the 1880 census...would be glad to share what I have found with you.

James Nacey?to Ralph Cathcart

Hello, My name is Kimberley Cathcart. I have always been interested in finding the continuing bloodline in my family and just now have found a way to look into it. My father is James Cathcart, Son of Ralph Cathcart and Judy Cathcart (Conners) My grandfather James Nacey was adopted by Mary and Ralph Cathcart he was then given the name Ralph Cathcart.. I am looking to find what lays beyond him his parents. He was born Aug 20, 1940 he died aprl 85 of a horseback riding accident or that is what has been told. He was born in NY to a 16yr old girl and a 19 yr old boy his 16yr old mother apparently tryed to keep him for about 4mo. then couldnt. I am not sure where the name Nacey came into play i dont know if it was the mothers or the fathers. His adoptive parents have long since passed i had never met them, but then i am only 20 i also never met my grandfather. But for yrs since i can remember i have always wanted to know. At one point he left judy Cathcart his wife and got married again to anouther woman in Louisiana whom he had two children with a girl and a boy about 20yrs old now. If anyone has any info on this it would be really helpful Thank You Email me at Moongirl@playful.com

I am indeed a descendant of Luella's! As a matter of fact, I am her grand-daughter, and Sally's daughter. I knew who you were right away when I had seen that the name was Brigit. I remember few bits and pieces of your wedding in Duluth. Anyhow, I have shown your message to my mother (Sally) and she would like to correspond with you. You can correspond with her through my e-mail, if you wish, at ksigs@ecenet.com I'm sure she would love to hear from you! Will be waiting for a reply!
