Does anyone know who taught at the Choctaw Academy. Years ago, somewhere, I think I found a George Nail that taught there. I think he was my ggggrandfather, but didn't save the data to further investigate. Does anyone have info?
Looking for Christopher Columbus Nails parents

Hello,
I'm desperately searching for the father of my gg grandfather. I know that his mother was Angelina Nail (Hendrixson?) C.C. Nail was born 1855 in Indiana and I found them on an 1860 census with Angelina and a George Nail. George is shown to be 50 years older than Angelina and he is not listed on as father on C.C.'s marriage license (father was listed as unknown on marriage license). I would love to find out who is father is and more on Angelina as well. C.C. had two brothers.. Thomas Jefferson Nail and an Anthony Nail. They all stayed relatively close to the Martin Co, IN area. If anyone has more info.. I would love to have it. I've kind of hit a wall. Thanks in advance!
dhigs2762

Re: I Have information on Shenandoah Valley VA Nails

Although not apparently part of my Nagel family in Lincoln County, NC I picked up some info on several Nagel/Nail in Shenandoah county, Va. I have a David, Mary and John Nagel (varied spelling of last name) that were orphaned and/or indentured out.

I could not fine Mary or John, but it appears David later married Christine Rife. They then moved to East TN (Green county) and then finally to IN (I think Washington county but can not put my hand on the info at this time) and had lots of kids. In general they changed the spelling to Nale.

Happy Researching

John Neal b. 1765 Virginia

I am trying to find the family of John Neal, born in Virginia in 1765, died Monroe County,Georgia 21 June 1840. Most researchers have his parents as Julian Nail (1740-1805) and Mary (1746-). My problem comes in when his parents are listed as Jonathan Nail and Rhoda (English)Folsom Nail who are shown both being born around 1742, which would make them the same ages as their child. Does anyone know the parents of Julian Nail (b. Albemarle, Va. 1740, died Elbert, Ga. 1805?

I have a copy of Eva Nail's death certificate. She was my father's birth mother. According to the certificate, she was born June 29, 1901 and died July 24, 1925 at the age of 24 years, 25 days. Her first son was my father Ulon Willis Rankin. Her second son was Wilson Rankin who was born just before she died. Her husband at the time of her death was Homer Rankins, who changed his name to Homer Rankin. They were married on January 7th, 1922. The marriage certificate shows her name as Eva Neal or Nial. I have a picture of her headstone.

Looking for living members with surname Nail to have a male Nail relative take the DNA test. My father, Robert Edward Nail has taken the Y chromosome 46 marker test and the MTDNA test (for mothers side). His Y chromosome test revealed Group R1b, and his MTDNA test revealed Haplogroup H. Would love to see how many of us match! Other possible surname matches are Nagel and O'Neill.

Hi Jessica I am not sure if you can help me or not but it is worth a try .. I am looking for a marriage between a male Mcdonald and a female Nail.. They had 2 daughters that I know of ( Mary Beth Mcdonald , Jane Mcdonald ) and a couple of sons names unknown.. Mcdonald was a coal miner and had been injured and crippled.. Sometime in the mid 1950's they moved to California from Alabama..Both daughters are now deceased and not knowing the brothers names makes it real hard for me to research... Mary B had filled out a social security app in 1958 but that didn't give me anything to go on.. Her LDS listings shows her mother as maiden name Nail.. Thats why I am asking.. I know that there are alot of ppl with both those names but Nail is rather documented... Oh Mary B was born Cullman Alabama 1942 maybe that will help.. I have been searching for over 28 years now and I sure would like to get her parents names so I can figure this all out... Thanks alot Jessica... Terra Baker

I believe I have solved the mystery of where Ann Eliza Nail; m. Adolphus Eugene Burrows; is buried. While researching the Burrows side of my family I studied the cemetery records of Beards Cemetery in McCrory, Woodruff County, AR. There is a broken headstone there that some people believed read ANNELIZER NAIL. Because the headstone is broken I believe this is Ann Eliza Nail's headstone. I hope this helps someone.
