Iv traced Nailon in my family back to the early 1800s. James Nailon and co moved to australia as agricultral specialists around 1830. Not much else to report due to a lack of census data. The majority of Nailons could be found in the USA, in particular Texas - may be worth looking into if you want more info.

My grandmothers maiden name was Ellen Merrillees and she had a sister Mary Anne and a brother Bob. All born around 1890's in South Shields.
I have just recently started to try and trace family history and have made a connection with a cousin, who seems to have gathered quite a lot of information. Ours mother were first cousins.

Can you tell me if these Dorriens came from Scotland and then to Canada before coming to the united states in1863? If it is the same family lineI have information to share.

My great grandfather James Thomas Dorrien was the son of John Dorrien born in Scotland. His son was my great grandfather James Thomas Dorrien born in Canada 1859. John his father came to the united states in 1862 or 1863.

I saw your posting and I am very interested in the name Dorrien. My Dorrien family came from Scotland to Canada where my g grandfather Dorrien was born in 1859. The family came to the states in 1862. Can share information.

I'm very interested in Africans that were enslaved under the Nailon name. I am of African descent with three children and two grand-children. I would like to tell them the complete truth of the history of their existence. I met a Nailon in Arizona who taught me about Patrick Nailon. That really opened my eyes.

My wife was a Nailon & is trying to trace her family. We know of a John Nailon, born @ 1859 & his father was Thomas. John married a Frances Dorrian in South Shields, Durham UK on 28th August 1882. We know that Francis died in 1906 in UK but we have no further information on John or Thomas. We believe there may be an Irish connection but this is purely guesswork. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For Kim Sutton: My GG grandparents were Jesse and Catherine (Naillon) Fox. Catherine was the older sister of your GG grandmother, Mary Ann (Naillon) Caldwell, so I guess we must be fourth cousins. I have also been trying to learn who their mother was, but have not yet succeeded in finding that info. I do, however, have quite a bit of information on the descendants of Patrick Naillon, and would like to compare notes, and share, if either of us has any info on this family that the other doesn't already have. I am trying to find information on Nancy Moore daughter of Samuel Moore of Madison County, NC and Unicoi County, TN. She was born ca 1821. She married Elijah Washington Naillon. He had a second wife Harriet Brown. I am researching the Moore family and a Charity Brown who married a Samuel Moore in Washington County, TN. Could you tell me anything about your search. I do have someinformation about the Naillon familyfrom NC/TN area. There were quite a few variation on the name. Some desendants are Neylands, some are Neilans, some are Nelons. We have all found our way back to a Patrick Nailon born about 1770 in Ireland.

I am having difficulties researching my mother's maiden name Nailon - I am hoping for some information or assistance.

William Nailon married Margaret King (I don't have any dates). Their son James was born in 1839 and moved to Australia where he died on the 11 June 1897 in Victoria, Australia.

James Nailon married Johanna Comerford in 1870. They had two sons - William (08 October 1873) and James (?possibly a twin of William - in Wilby, Victoria, Australia). Willaim died on the 16 March 1907 in Tungamah, Victoria and James died on the 15 October 1921 in Tungamah, Victoria.

Information on some of the birth and death certificates states Tipperary as the place of birth. I have been unable to find any other information. My Uncle and Aunt travelled to Tipperary recently and were unable to find any information or clues.
