If so, according to what I have in my data, there is no connection to Thomas Nance from South Carolina. I have James as a son of Thomas Nance of Randolph County, North Carolina and Ferabee Yarbrough of Tennessee. James, his brother George and his sister Mary were all born in Independence County, Arkansas. James and his brother George came to Texas while the sister Mary married a Nolen (who abandoned her and a couple of kids), then married a Mayben. She died and is buried at Manila, Arkansas.
