WESTERVILLE: Harold Leslie Nance, 85, of Westerville, Ohio formerly of Sunbury, Ohio, died suddenly while working in his driveway Saturday afternoon December 14, 2013.

He was born April 22, 1928 in Lucasville, Ohio (Scioto County) to Clayton and Mona Mae (Dixon) Nance.

Harold graduated from Valley High School in Lucasville and later served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps from 1946-1949 and then as a member of the Air Force Reserves from 1949-1952.
He owned and operated Harold Nance Builders where he began building homes in 1967 and built numerous homes over the years including the last one at age 82. He also retired from Boeing North American where he worked as a machinist.
He attended the Northgate Community Church in Sunbury, Ohio and enjoyed helping people.
He was a very charitable and giving person.
He enjoyed working, BMW motorcycles, ping pong, mapping trips out, and country music.
He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 60 years, Zelpha (Days) with whom he was inseparable in work and life; sons, Robert Gordon (Doris) and Harold "Rusty" (Chris) Nance, all of Galena; daughter, Lori (Josh) Nance-Ach of Centerburg; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Blair, Tayler, Samuel and Macayla Nance and Clayton, Jake, and Charlie Ach; sisters-in-law, Euneva Days of Columbus and Loutricia Belli of Johnstown, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Nance; and two sisters, Marjorie Flaherty and Betty Davis.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 17th from 4-8 pm at the Devore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. St. Rt. 61, Sunbury and where funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 18th at 10:00 am.
Graveside services will then be held at 2:30 pm in Salt Creek Cemetery in Lucasville, Ohio.
