Ernest Nance family

Hello. I am looking for information on my grandfather, Ernest Nance. Here is what I know: he was from Lincoln County, NC, and was born sometime around 1900. He died sometime around 1958. He was married to Pearl Reynolds around 1920, and they had 7 children: Kat, Harold, Betty, Dennis, Bob, Joy (my mother), and Jan. I know the first? names of his brother and sisters - Sue, Mae, Edna, Pauline, Mag, and Graham. That's all I know, and don't know of any living relative to ask. Any and all help will be appreciated.

My Grandfather is Thomas Roberts, son of Edward's brother Elbert. I asked him about this and he said while he was growing up no one ever talked about Edward's first wife, and that he did not even know that he was married prior to Beula until he was an adult. So, it sounds like it was kind of hush hush. Sorry I could not be of more help.
Becky Jones

Mr. Nance, you don't know me but I am doing family research on the Erwin's here in Huntsville, Madison Co, AL at this time. I just was able to find a link to Rebecca's line of Erwin's yesterday when I noted her dated posting of 6-19-04 she asked about Mattie Lou Erwin b.1868 in Newmarket, AL and her parents were James Jackson Erwin and 1st wife Margaret (Bettie)Ghromley and 2nd wife Sarah Ann Elizabeth Ghromley. James J. Erwin is my gggrandfather.

Would like to learn more about your line of the Erwin's.

Thanks,
Shelia

Sarah and Simuel Enoch are my great grandparents and are buried here in Valliant where I live. I recognized the names do you have the written history that was done by my grandmother's sister my great Aunt, she also married a Paschall she did a copy but most of my line do not have theirs. Aunt Jo belonged to Sarah and Simuel Enoch. The names started making sense did you know Nantes was the last name but alwo where they came from in France, I have a written record and those names are there, it is late and I need to check my records later. Let me hear from you. Jo
Ann Matlock

I did not know about the 8 children I had some records I need to check and it was about marriages from the home of John Stovall in Sevier Co near Mc Curtain here in Ok Sevier is just over in the Ark area. This is shedding light on something I need to check on with others in my family. It seems he was a minister or I remember seeing his name on marriage documents we have. This might answer the question about the Indian heritage we have as Wilson might be the was we need to research. Mom didn't think we could trace it but thought that was what she remembered, I will check with her Sis and older neice. Thanks, I will be in touch

I haven't heard about the quilt.
Martha married as her second husband, John H Stovall, in 1858, and had 8 children with him. Between 1871 and 1873, they moved to Texas, where their last son was born. They then moved on to Oklahoma, where they lived in Love County, then in Ardmore, where they were buried in Springer Cemetery, she in 1903 and he in 1905. So Sarah and Simuel didn't live too far from Sarah's mother and stepfather!
John Stovall was a minister. Since John Stovall was Sarah's stepfather, I'm not surprised that he may have been the officiating minister at some of his step-grandchildren's marriages.]
The Wilson line traces back as Martha Ann Wilson, daughter of Swepson Wilson andj Dorothy Key. Sweepson was the son of Henry Wilson and Rachel Paschall. Dortohy (Dolley) was the daughter of Garland Key and Rebeccah.
Are you near Ardmore, OK?
I haven't heard about the quilt. What is the story?
Sandy

Hi Cousin,
I responded but it hasn't appeared on the message board.
I'm descended from James Theophilus, brother of Sarah, through his son James Stanley, my grandfather.
I have seen the record made by Jo Etta - fascinating reading!! They certainly moved around quite a bit...
Where is Valliant?
It's possible that John had 3 wives - Susan, Frances, and Phebe.
What information do you have on Peter or his father John?
Sandy

Hi JoAnn,
It's so nice to meet a Nantes cousiN!!
I've seen the Simuel Enoch account written by Jo Etta. Where is Valliant located?
Have you discovered any further information on the ancestors of Peter Randolph Nantes?
I'm descended from Peter through son James Theophilus, grand son James Stanley (my grandfather)
I've never been able to locate any Louvier family in North Carolina, where Peter was born. It's possible that there were two wives, Susan and Frances, plus he had another wife Phebe, by whom he had more children in Henry Co., TN
