I am looking for the family tree of my grandfather, John Sherman Nangle (b. 1891 in New Jersey).

The family story is that his father was from Ireland and he fathered 23 children, between two wives, one of whom was named Annie. The story goes that he named the first child Katherine, and by the 23rd child had forgotten this and named the last child Katherine, too. He was a shoemaker with a shop in New Jersey. When his second wife died, several of the kids were still young and/or in their teens, and they were all given to an orphanage.

My grandfather John was one of the youngest of the group, third from the last from what I recall. He was living in New York City during the crash of 1929 and moved to Orlando Florida thereafter, where my mother remembers having three or four of her aunts and uncles living on the same street as her in the 1940s and 1950s. But many of the family that I've met say that the Nangle family was from Ohio.
