I stumbled across this page and I don't know if this is information you may be looking for:
1. Father's name Jose Luis Natal Sr., born I believe in Aguadilla
2. My name, Jose Luis Natal Jr., born in San Francisco, CA
3. Mother's father was Diego Marcial, born in Aguadilla, I believe
4. Diego had a farm in Aguadilla that he sold to the military
5. Jose Sr. had one brother's name that I recalled as Samuel.
6. I don't have much more information as I do not know much of my mother's or father's side of the family.

EMAIL: jnatal@ameritech.net for more information.

I am guessing her father was born in the late 1800's/early 1900s and her grandfather maybe 20-30 years earlier.

If anyone knows anything- let me know!

I am a Natal from Utuado and I know we had relatives all over Puerto Rico. My oldest brother's name was Francico Natal Santiago, but he died a long time ago in New York( it was around 1960 or 61 I believe). I think he was about 29 at the time.He would have been about 64 now. He had children that I never met.He had a daughter named Margie or Magie, also had 2 sons,Tony and Frankie all with different mothers.

While searching for a Luis Natal, my wife accidently came accross your message. My mother is from Aguadilla. I am searching for a Luis Natal who may have been married to my mother for a very short time. Supposenly Luis Natal may have been in the Army (1950's). My mother is currently 69 years old. The story changes from family member to family member. This Luis Natal may have the name of a person my mother knew also from Aguadilla. I just need the holes of the story I've been told filled in. Looking forward to hearing from you.........

Dear Mr. Natal,

Quite coincidentally, I came across information on a book on Jewish roots. This is quite a large coincidence, since my maternal grandfather was Alvares and I found it on their list of Jewish names, and the surname VIctoria, which has been connected with my family in the past and which I have been researching. The site is www.avotaynu.com and they offer similar surnames, using soundex.

I was looking up something entirely different, unrelated to genealogy, but decided to stop and write a note to the publisher, letting them know I could not afford the book but would ask my library to purchase it, as there seems to be a derth of books on Jewish genealogy at this collection. In a few hours, I received a message stating that they have published a book on Sephardic roots.

Remember, however, that looking middle eastern can denote ancestry from Turkey and people of different religions also left there. People from the area of the Mediterranean have physical similarities. My father can be said to look Jewish or Italian, for example, but he is the result of an admixture of different ethnic groups.

Cordially,
Ines Diaz-Owen

I'm looking for information on my great great (ahh, alot of greats) grandmother Cornelia Natal. She apparently came over from Spain and married a Rivera (not sure if they married in Spain or if she was in PR before she met and married him) They settled in Utuado and had a daughter Julia Rivera in 1890. If anyone has any information please let me know! I honestly haven't seen any other Cornelia's in all my research (PR-wise) so maybe that might ring a bell. Thanks!

I was just looking thru the message board and was amazed that I didn't see this earlier. I have been looking for a link. My paternal grandfather was Andres Natal Rodriguez and my maternal grandmother was Justina Natal Rodriguez. Both were from Vega Alta. Many with that surname lived in the surrounding barrios of Maricao, Mavilla and Corozal. There is a story of three Brothers from France. Two of which had traveled to the Island of Puerto Rico and settled One in the Vega Alta area and the other I'm not sure. I do have a strong feeling that there is a link between the Natals who are presently living in Spain and those throughout our beautiful Island. Someday I hope to either find that link or leave enough information on the Web for others to use. Besides all else, I feel that our strongest tie or link is the fact that we all are related somehow with that Island. 'QUE VIVA ESA ISLA TAN PRECIOSA'

I must say that upon seeing your name I thought you were a neighbor of mine from Puerto Rico whom I had lost touch with years ago. Well, according to the story that I have been told is that there were three brothers in France and two of which sailed to the Island and settled there in different parts of the island. It has been said that we are all related somehow. I personally believe that. I discovered that the surname Natal is not Italian as I thought and according to some books it is Portuguese and Spanish. My Father was born in Corozal and his Name is Pedro Natal Agosto. My late mother was born in Vega Alta as I was and her maiden name was Emerita Agosto Natal. Her mother was Justina Natal Rodriguez and my father's dad was Andres Natal Rodriguez. The brother who came from France and settled in Vega Alta was Named Raímundo. My Aunt Altagracia Natal Rodriguez Lived in Barrio Mavilla. Her husband was Juan Adorno. My father's mother was Alejandrina Agosto Ortega and she was from Corozal. Excuse my mixup. The Natal Rodriguez's from above's father was Juan Natal and their mother was Ramona Rodriguez. If you continue reading the message board as I do you will find both curious and interesting information that might leave you thinking as it does me at times. The is the one about 'Jews Natal', now that's interexsting and then I am trying to find a link between our Natals and the Gallego Natal family tree from Spain. I think that our ancestors migrated to france from Spain at some time in history. Jacinto Gallego Natal whom lives in Quebec, Canada told me via email that some of his ancestors might have migrated to France. Keep looking. My homepage is The Edwin 'Natal' Agosto Family Tree. I started recently and will contiue adding to it. I strongly feel that we are somehow relate and will continue looking for the missing links. Thank You for your curiousity.

Saludos

I think you might want to go to my webpage at
Although it is not the usual entry to my site, it is the descendant page of my Pabón. Recently I was able to prove all the Pabón from Vega Baja and Vega Alta descend from same forbear. Go to my page and drop me a line.

Let it load and enjoy... Sometime in the fall I hope to publish booklet with colateral lines. Un abrazo, elpadre

I was given your name in the Natal Message Board as someone who had a bit of information regarding the Natal family in Utuado/Corozal. I would like to take this opportunity to ask you if your Grandmother Altagracia had a relation by the name of Rosendo (Josendo?) Natal.

He married Maria R. Torres Ramos of Adjuntas and Utuado circa 1886. They moved to Corozal after they married. They had 3 children: Altagracia, Catalina and Maria Basilisa Natal-Torres. The first two girls died in infancy. There is the possibility that Altagracia was named after one of Rosendo's relatives (possibly his mother, or a sister)

I am giving you this background in hope that I find descendants of Rosendo (or Josendo?) Natal. He lived in (or near) Carolina, Puerto Rico in the 1930's where he had other children. That was the last time his daughter, Maria Basilisa Natal Torres saw him.

Maria Basilisa Natal Torres was my grandmother. She Told me that after her parents married, they moved to Corozal. She died in Utuado on 30 July 1996.

I would appreciate any information you or anyone reading this message may give me.

Thank you for the information you have shared with me. It is much appreciated.

I was just cooking "patitas de cerdo con garbanzos" (pigs feet with chick peas) The recipie is one of Basi's (Maria Basilisa Natal) favorite. She learned it from her Spanish grandparents. I 've not made it in a long time, but its my gift to this Puerto Rican couple who ,like me, live in the State of Georgia. We miss little things like that when we leave outside the island.

To make a long story short, I took a break to check my e-mail and was pleased to find your message..... It got me thinking. Actually, it helped me make a decision.

I've just decided to go to Utuado this fall when it gets a little cooler in the island. I will spend some time doing research. If there is anything I can look up for you in Utuado, let me know. In any case, I will share my findings with you. Hopefully, whatever I find will help someone else who might also be searching the Natal surname.

Best regards to you and God Bless.

Thank you for the lead. The Natal name is a missing branch in my family tree. One I would like to restore. I know it will be difficult, since the Natals in my family (my father's maternal side) are no longer on this earth, and I have no other Natals to turn to for information.

What keeps me searching is the love I carry for my grandmother in my heart, and the one I am learning to feel for Rosendo Natal-my ggrandfather. Love is a curious thing. It transcends every thing - even death.

Again, thank you for your help. God Bless.
My great-great-great-grandmother, Cornelia Natal came over to PR from Spain, though I have no idea where in Spain. She married a Rivera (don't know his first name), and they had a daughter, Julia. Julia was born around 1890-1891, so I'm assuming Cornelia was born abt. 1870. My great-grandmother was born in Utuado, and so I think that she settled in the Utuado/Jayuya area. So yes, I think the Spain/PR link is strong!

Jackie Sanchez Pichardo
