I have recently started working on my husband's family tree and his grandmother was a Nations before she married. She looked very much Cherokee from what he says. Her name was Louise Nations and she was born in Whitfield County, GA. From info from his uncle, we know that her father was James Thomas Nations (b. 1874 Whitfield Co, GA). His parents were James Matthews Madison Nations and Susan Ida Nations. At this point in the line I become confused because the records show HER parents as Nations (Israel and Virginia Jane Connally Nations). The line goes back further to a John Nations who married a Sarah Smith. John Nations was born 1775/6 in Greenville Co, SC.
Does anyone have any of these or have any further information?
