Bob - your information was very interesting and I too have done some research. However, my great Undle Donald Naylor researched through out his years and put together a family history (beginning with George the immigrant) and passed this out to family members. It's very interesting. My family stems from George(immigrant), James, Joshua, Joshua Jr, John, Wm Commodore Perry, James Lafayette, James Lloyd, James Lloyd Jr,(my father). My part of the family immigrated to Texas. My father's Aunt and one uncle moved to California. Uncle Donald moved around (Florida then ended up in Georgia). My father was born in Dallas, Texas, as well as his sister, Lillian Ann. However, their parents divorced when Aunt Lilly was young and by the time dad and Aunt Lilly were 18 they had legally changed their names to Bartlett (step-father's name)... so dad's legal name became Lloyd Naylor Bartlett.

I would love to find out exactly where George (the immigrant) came from, who his parents were and any siblings.

I have actually done a bit of research on this. As best I can determine, no one knows why he is called Dick Naylor. There are several references to the horse in literature. It appears Billy Clanton stole Dick Naylor from Wyatt, and Wyatt confronted Billy and got the horse back. We are also told that Virgil Earp would go riding on Dick Naylor, perhaps to excercise the horse.
That's about it. If you ever find out, please post.

Ms. Stover
I have a little info on Stacy Brown Naylor, his father David and Grandfather Jacob. Since this note is very late in reply you may already have the info you were looking for. If you have found info, would like to exchange what we have.
Also, I met Aunt Mildred Spangler and her husband Charles in 1953 at their home in Muskegan, MI. Don't remember much, but would share what I remember.
I have corresponded with Ardis Enking in the 1980's about the Naylors. Don't know if she is still alive.
Let me know your needs on these matters.
Steve & Pat Andres - Steve@AndresUSA.com

I have Mary Ann as the daughter of Daniel Naylor and Mary(Polly) Ziegler. Their homestead was in West Manchester Twp., York County. IIsrael and Mary lived in Dover Twp., York County which was just across the creek from West Manchester Twp. The Neiman Cemetery that Israel and Mary are buried in is located in West Manchester Twp.

By the way, this is where I was born and raised and I have walked this cemetery.

If you are pursuing Naylor info from York County, I may be able to help you.

Regards,

Stan

Does anyone have information on a Palermo (aka Polly) NAYLOR b:1795 in Georgia? He was in De Kalb County Alabama in 1849 where he witnessed a land transaction with his suspected brother, Polydore NAYLOR. They were both in Mississippi in the 1850 census. Polydore was in Lafayette County and Polly NAILER was in Panola County. They were both occupied as teachers. See attached census records.

Other families that were associated with them in Alabama were also living near them in Mississippi. These surnames include MILSTEAD and ROWAN.

The children of Polydore Naylor were in Smith County TX in the 1860 census. I have been unable to locate Polydore, Palermo, or Palermo's children in 1860.

Hi,

Am not sure if this is a waste of time or not.

Am currently researching "Naylor", my husbands family, very little is known. But here goes.

Thomas Henry Naylor was born approx 1857, (have always been told in Yorkshire.

He married and had 2 twin boys (born 1892), definately one named Harry, the other possibly Alan, Alan joined the navy and we believed died in the Battle of Jutland (no def reports found), Harry joined the army and his army records cannot be traced, he married Edna Crowther. Harry and Edna went on to have Deric and Edna, they all moved at some stage to Manchester area.

It was also thought that Harry and Alan lived at some stage in Tonypandy, Wales.

Does any of this ring any bells.

Thanks

Chris

I have no connection to the Naylor genealogy. I am composing a booklet about the rural village known as Lake City in Spring Creek Twp., Elk County, PA...R.S. Naylor was listed in an Elk County history as the Minister 1913-1916 at the Lake City Methodist church. I would like to learn more about the background of Rev. R.S. Naylor to be able to compose a write up about him. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I have found the above listed in the US Census for 1850. He is listed as living in Easton Northampton, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately the census doesn't indicate his relationship to the other people on the record. I have tried to search the English records but have had no joy there either. One day I hope to set up a web page. At the moment I appear to have two accounts, with Ancestory.com (lenfurst1) and one with Ancestory.co.uk (user name lenfurst48). I hope to sort this out within the next few days. Abraham's daughter Mary A. married Israel Heilman 31 Jan 1847 at Christ Lutheran Church in York, PA. I suspect that there is some problem with Mary's attributed father. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciated any help you can give.

Hi I am Michelle Naylor and am researching my family history here in Walsall. The family originates from West Midlands/Staffordshire/Shropshire which seems to tie in with Dawley, Madeley in Telford and Walsall Foreign Exchange. My grandfather was Edward Naylor born 1915/6 married to Edna Gertrude Bethel. His father was James Alfred Naylor. If this is the line u want info about please contact me.

UK Marriage of John NOAKES to Eleanor NAYLOR/NEALOR bef 1828

Hi! I am looking for a marriage between John NOAKES and Eleanor NEALOR/NAYLOR. John was born 6 August 1804 in Herstmonceux Sussex England and was buried there 23 May 1828. From a letter written by my great great grandfather's first cousin in 1887, I know the marriage occurred but I don't know where or when. I have looked on the IGI, Pallots, and findmypast's collection but no joy. They did not marry at Herstmonceux, but my guess is that they married in London. I would also love to know what became of Eleanor after John's death. Most likely she remarried before 1837 as I have not been able to find a marriage in the GRO records. Does she possibly fit into anyone's tree? Thanks, please email me at JMBecker@aol.com Joanne

Mrs. Naylor died 1805 at the age of 103.

"In Amwell NJ, Mrs. Naylor at about 103 years. She was born in that neighborhood, in its first settelment. Her husband was killed in Braddock's expedition, in the year 1755; since that time she has remained a widow, being left with nine children. She enjoyed good health till within twenty-four hours of her decease, and last summer could walk two or three miles. It is remarkable, that for upwards of fifty years past her whole diet consisted of bohea tea, and a little bread and butter three times a day; and her amusement was continually smoking tobacco."

Has anyone else seen this quote? Do you have it in your genealogy? We are seeking the name of Mr. Naylor who died in Braddock's Expedition.
