Looking for a Nathan NEAL born circa 1830 variously reported in Greenbriar, Kanawha, or Jackson, Counties of what was then Virginia [later WV]. His father may have been Samuel NEAL(E). Probable Neal family migration pattern was probably from Greenbriar to Kanawha then to Jackson and perhaps Putnam & Cabell Counties. Nathan married Mary Magdelene TURLEY circa 1856. It is thought that they lived in Gallia County, Ohio during the 1860-70s before moving to Cannonsberg, Boyd County, Kentucky, where the family is recorded in the 1880 Federal Census. Nathan is listed as "Farmhand" and he and Mary then have six children: Sarah Alice (ca 1857-ca 1929), Thomas (ca 1862-), Charles (ca 1864), Benjamin Franklin "Frank" (ca 1866 to ca 1923), Hester A. (ca 1872), and Nathan (ca 1878. It is presumed Nathan died circa 1890 in KY. His widow Mary is later found associated with the household of her son Benjamin Franklin, or "Frank" NEAL.
