I'm looking for information regarding the family of Sarah Neal, who was born in Alabama around 1831 to parents from South Carolina and married Thomas Horne, whose family was also from South Carolina. I've found information about Thomas Horne's ancestors, but I can't find anything about Sarah's parents.

I'm especially looking for information about their ethnic origins. All the Census records I've looked at say they were "white," but their descendants all have dark, Mediterranean features.
