SOUTH BEND, IND. – Kathryn Neal Corroto, 82, one day shy of 83, passed away peacefully at her home on April 20, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Born April 21, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) she was the daughter of the late Clayson and Dorothy (Burkett) Neal.
On July 19, 1958, Kathryn married Robert E. Corroto.
His job resulted in moves to Akron and Tallmadge, Ohio and they eventually settled in South Bend, Indiana in 1976. Robert preceded her in death in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Fetz (Lawrence) of New Albany, Ind.; a son, Robert Neal Corroto of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Lauren Main (John) of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Deidre Fetz of New Albany, OH; and two brothers, William Neal of Canton, Texas and Ernest Neal of Columbus, Ohio.
Kathryn graduated from Chaney High School in Youngstown, Ohio and later received a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University.
She was formerly employed by the Youngstown Board of Education and later the U.S. Steel Company. Golf was a pastime that she enjoyed immensely.
Per her request, cremation will take place.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 State Route 23, enter off Cherry Rd.
