Oscar Neese, WWI Vet. recieves Purple Heart, Mobile, AL 1933
From the Mobile, Alabama Newspaper
Sunday, Aug. 27, 1933
"Another Mobile county veteran has been awarded the Purple Heart for meritorious action in the World war.
"Oscar Neese, of Whistler, who now is engaged in the prosaic occupation of operating a shoe shop in Oakdale, is the recipient of the decoration from his government." Neese had participated in the battles of Chateau Thierry, Champagne, Marne, Meuse, Argonne and others. He received a gunshot wound in the foot and a shell fragment under the right shoulder, at Verdun and in the Argonne.
Not my line, just sharing.
