In pronouncing Nehen, the 'h' is silent. There are many similar but unrelated surnames, so you would need the correct spelling.

My name is Mike Nehen, I'm the son of Gene and Beverly Nehen, grandson of Harry Nehen Sr.

I live in the Antelope Vally (Los Angeles Co) Calif.

I would appricate any information you could give me on the Nehen family.

My dad Gene was the third child of Harry and Cora, he died in 1991. His two older brothers Harry Jr and Fred are still alive. His younger brother Lloyd died two years ago

I would be glad to share any information I have on this side of the family if you woukl like it.

Dennis - are you in Arizona? My outgiong mail does not work. I am so excited. I was looking through my grandmother's pictures and found Antje taken in LA, Cal. 8/20/1915 says she is 17 1/2 years old. Also picture of
Harry R. Nehen, Jr. age 7 months.
Jensine Jensen was a sister to Else Marie Jensen Friis. Another sister, Marie, was my grandmother's mother who died at age 38. My grandmother came here when she was 11 from Denmark and lived with Else Marie and husband.
Can't wait to communicate more with you. I just ordered Generations Family Tree Maker - I have not done this before. All my family on my dad's side came from Denmark.

I have a picture postcard that my grandmother wrote "California girls" on. I believe this to be Carrie. I am thinking we are blood related. Jensine Frances Jensen is a sister to my grandmother's mother who died in Denmark at age 38 (Marie Kristine Jensen Laursen). I love the work you did on Nehen. Else Marie Jensen Friis took in my grandmother, Laura Laursen, when she came here from Denmark. Else Marie Jensen Friis is Jensine's sister. That is why Carrie filled out the death certificate information when Else Marie Jensen Friis was visiting her and died there in 1945. I probably am not explaining this well. I never knew who Else Marie was visiting in California when she died. The obit here says her brother "John Barrett" was also visiting and brought the body back to North Dakota.

Dennis, How do you pronounce Nehen? I recently found my G-Grandmothers maiden name as Neine but I'm not sure of the spelling. "Annie" Neine Stichler was born in Pa around 1853.
