I am looking for information on the parents F. Newton Neighbors, born around 1820-1825 in either North or South Carolina. He is listed on the 1850 census in Talladega Coo., AL as No. Car. as his birthplace. He living next door to John Neighbors, born in So. Car., who I believe may be his father. Newton married Susan Ann Gurley in Talladega Co. in 1848. They were living in Calhoun Co., AL in 1870, his birthplace listed as No. Car., and were living in Clay Co., AL in 1870, birthplace listed as So. Car. I can find no further documentation after 1870 on either Newton or Susan. Newton and Susan had the following children:
James A. b. abt 1848 in Ala
John R. b. 1850 in Talladega Co., AL
Asberry or Asbury J. b. abt 1855, AL
William James b. 12 Apr 1857, AL (my gg grandfather)
George b. 1859 prob Calhoun Co., AL
Luther b. 1862, Alabama (Calhoun or Clay Co.)
L.M. (male child) b. abt 1869 Prob. Clay Co., AL

At least five of these sons (James A., John R., William J., George, and Luther, moved to Amity, Clark Co., Arkansas around 1880, and were all listed on the 1880 census there. William J.'s first child, Marion Hixson Neighbors was born in Alabama in 1879, so they must have just made it to Arkansas right before the 1880 census was taken. William James was killed when he hit a gas pocket while digging a well in 1882, and his widow returned to Clay Co., AL with his three children shortly after.

Any information that anyone can share on these Neighbors would be greatly appreciated.
