I WAS MARRIED TO A NEITZKE FOR THE LAST 40, WHO JUST DIED DEC 14TH FROM AGENT ORANGE. FROM WHAT I KNOW OF THE FAMILY HISTORY, THE NEITZKE CLAN CAN BE TRACED BACK TO THE BALTIC AREA FROM A TOWN CALLED KOLBERG. THEY WERE DEFINITELY PRUSSIAN. I KNOW THAT SOME MIGRATED TO DANZING IN LATER YEARS THEN TO THE UNITED STATES.

Thank you so much for replying! So I guess I was a little right with the whole Polish thing... that's getting a little farther east than Germany. Eastern Slavic is Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have the book "Deutsches Namenlexikon" by Hans Bahlow. This is what it has for the surname Neitzke:
Neitzel: ostd.-slaw. wie Neitzke. Translated it means that Neitzke is eastern Slavic.

My great grandmother was a Neitzke and was born in Danzig, Germany which is now Gdansk, Poland. My family has never known the origin of the name and it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help out! Is it German? Is it Polish? Is it something else? Please help us! Thank you so much!

I was interested in contacting Starla because I was at one time, her brother's Norv's best friend. Starla and I only met once at her high school graduation. She probably won't remember me. I was, in the recent past, trying to locate Norv, since we had been out of contact. I learned to my great sorrow the he was deceased. I wanted to contact Starla to try to determine if the info I had was correct. I don' t know if they were in contact, or if she can help. There is some info that I would really like to have, however.

I was married to a Michael Neitzke who's family is from Toledo ohio.

His dad's name was Robert, Mom was June. Grandfather's name was Emil and the Grandmother's name was Mayme.

I have an address for their sister if you think you may be related. let me know.

I have found the ship's passenger list for the Heinrich (Henry) Neitzke family of Trempealeau County, Wisconsin. They arrived in New York on April 24, 1873 on the "Hansa". The members of this family came over in "steerage". The children of Wilhelmine and Heinrich were Bertha-19, Carl-9, Carle-16, Elisabeth-2, Emilie-6, Mathilda-17, Theresa-7, Wilhelm-5, and ??Female-14. Hope this will be of help to someone.

Looking for any info on Neitzke family who lived on King St. in Toledo OH in the 30s-50s. They would have been my maternal ggrandparents. Daughters Edith, Alberta and Margaret. Edith married Robert Reich, Alberta Married Glen Myers and Margaret married Wm. Murphy. Any help appreciated. I only remember my ggrandmother and then only as granny Neitzke.

I am looking for g-grandfather and family. Probably born abt 1860 in Horicon, WI. Father, Wm K. was from PA. Mother was Frances Atwood or perhaps, Sarah Kearney (Karney?). Some info indicates Wm. K . ended up in Pewaukee, WI., while Wm. F and his wife, Catherine Schaetzel Cass settled in Milwaukee. Do any of these names mean anything to anyone else out there. I have the Schaeltzel line all the way back to early 1500's but my Cass relatives elude me. Thanks for any help.

Anyone have any info on Wilhelmine Neitzke born Jun 1821 in Dassow, Pomerania. She married Johann Schwanz from Ruwoldsdorf, a few miles away from Dassow. The emigrated to Elk Grove, Cook County, Illinois in 1879.

Is anyone related to the Neitzkes of Trempealeau County, Wisconsin? My great grandmother was Mathilda Neitzke. She married John Schroeder. They lived on Schroeder Road in Trempealeau County. She came from Stolp, Pommern, Prussia. I am sure they lived in a village somewhere around Stolp but, I have not been able to find exactly where. Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated.
