AMADO NEVAREZ | not related - for board
Amado J. Nevarez, 79, of Barstow joined the Lord on Nov. 16, 2011. He was born in San Marcial, N.M. on Jan. 9, 1932. Amado was married to his wife of 59 years, Clara, on Aug. 5, 1952. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 20 during the Korean War. He was employed for 35 years with MCLB repair division, Yermo Annex as Production Controller, Planner Estimator. He was involved in committees: Civilian Welfare and Recreation, Hispanic Employment Programs, and others. He was proud to give his services to the RSVP police enforcement. He enjoyed being involved with youth as a football and little league coach. He had a huge heart and gave so much love to so many. He is survived by his wife, Clara; children, Robert, Richard, Thomas, Patricia, and John and his wife, Helen; grandchildren, Felicia and her fiance Jason, Gary, Thomalina and Alexis Nevarez; sisters, Irene Benevidez, Sarah Estrada and Mary Estrada; brothers, Manuel Nevarez Jr.; and nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 with Rosary at 10 a.m. Funeral mass at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at Noonan Hall. Sorely missed by all who loved him and always remember AJ with his soothing whistling and compassionate personality.
