Hello,

I am the daughter of a Nevay. My mum and one of her sisters (both Nevays) were born in South Africa (father Paul Dominic Nevay 1928-2009), lived in Cambridge, and now mum lives in the USA near San Francisco. Another sister lives in Sevenoaks in England, and another in Leysin, Switzerland.

I have been researching my husband's family for a few years now and believe he is the G.G.G.G. Grandson of John Nevay (1792 - 1870) of Manor Street, Forfar. Over the years I have gathered quite a few bits and pieces on John's descendants but not much on his ancestors.

I note that a few years ago you posted a message on the rootsweb message board looking for Nevays. I wondered if you are still following this line of research.

Hello Judi, It seems that Imay be your cousin!My mother is Bessie Nevay, she too was born in Rosetown Sask with a father named charlie and a mother Joanne, I remember Uncle Albert an Uncle Rocky and one brother who was killed in the War named Red, I don't have a great deal of family history but I can tall you that as far as Glasgow goes the suburb was Maryhill. Hi there. My name is Jonas Nääf and i live in Sweden. I have done some checking in the history of my family and found out that i might be descending from James Nevay who left Scotland 1579. I wonder if you could give me some info on the whole family. How long have the family existed and is there any left in the area of which James, Jacob Nääf when he arrived in Sweden, moved from. Hello Everyone!

We are a group of Nevay's who live in Ontario now presently. Brockville, Ontario to be exact. My fathers Grandfather's name was George Simpson Nevay. I have absolutely no idea when we came to Canada, but I'm sure that my roots date back to Scottland. Any help?

Hi my name is Allan Nevay from Forfar I have two brothers Lindsay & Mark & a sister Gillian. My father is David & mother Margaret. My fathers family lived on castle hill & Canmore Street Forfar. He & his brother Evans are the only surving members three sisters have died.

Hi Brian, the James Nevay you replied to is not Dennis' son, but I am the mother of James and Jenise, Dennis's children. Glad to see Judi's post (Judi Thomas) on this board. Would be nice to have a family tree.

thanks for the reply. I only know of my grandfather James Stuart Nevay who passed away long before I was born. I would have to speak to my parents to find out dates and birthplaces, etc.but thanks anyway.will be in touch.

I have a list of hundreds of Nevays if you could let me have some information about your family and when they left U.K. and their last place of residence.
At present I am working on two main family trees one dating from 1790 the other from 1820.
I have been in touch with two other Nevay families in S.A. recently one of them have two daughters in Cambridge, England whom I hope to meet up with,

Judi, Your grandfather was from Glasgow but his parents come from the town Forfar in the county of Angus, Scotland. The first person I have recorded in your family was a Thomas Nevay born 1675. If you want more information please contact me.

Nevay Ancestory

Hello, My Fathers name was Albert Charles Nevay, who was born in Rosetown Sask. Canada, and so was I. My Grandparents on his side were born in Scotland, UK, my Grandfathers name was Charles Nevay. I am unsure if he had middle name. He was married to Joanne Robertson, also from Scotland. They were from Edinburgh and Glasgow, though I am not sure which one was from where. Please, reply as soon as possible, whether or not your records my information. Thankyou.
