G.Nevill - A Zulu War Soldier from the UK

I'm looking for any information, however small, on a distant relative. He was a Soldier in the British Army in 1879 and served in the Army Service Corps in the Zulu Wars of 1877 to 1879. The only details I have are:
T/3487 PRIVATE G. NEVILL.
He served in Zululand at the time of The Battles of Rourke's Drift and Isandlwana.(Remember the film 'Zulu'?). I hope someone can help. Many thanks.

Hello from Perry County, Il,

My husband and I are both descendants of Yelverton & Polly Neville. When we got into family research we found Yelverton to be our common ancestor. You can imagine our surprise. Polly's name was Mary Elizabeth Pollock born in Ky. about 1792. They were in Tn. by 1816 as their son John Wesley was born in Jackson Co.,Tn. Their first son was born ca. 1815. He did not come to Il. but 2 of his children are believed to have accompanied his parents around 1846 or 1848. I have no further info on Polly or Yelverton's wife Elizabeth.

Would like info on Yelverton's grave site. Is there a tombstone? Is it difficult to find? We visited Gainsboro and Whitleyville, Tn. We spoke with Jonas Clark and his wife in the late 1970's. Hope to hear from you. Virginiah

My Grandmother-Lily Nevill born 188 Battersea, London/Surrey. Married John Galsworthy Ashley.
Her parents:John James Nevill b.1864 Batersea and Marie Porter b.1868 Wrabness, Essex.
He was a house painter.
Later they lived and died in Balham, Streatham, London.
Siblings of Lily: Daisy born 1889, Ivy born 1891, John Archibald born 1893, Ruby Ada born 1903, Francis Cyprus John born 1905.
All born in Battersea.

Next generation back:
Cyprus John Nevill born 1825 Battersea, married to Eliza Smith born 1827. in Birmingham.
He was a labourer.
children of Cyprus & Eliza:
Cyprus William 1849, Eliza A. 1852,Esther 1854, Thomas 1857, John James 1854.
Siblings of Cyprus:
Frances Sarah 1818, Sarah 1822, George 1828, William James 1831, John 1833, Henry 1834, Mary 1835, James 1838. All born in Middlesex (Shoreditch and Bethnal Green)

Next generation back:
George Cyprus Nevill b.1795 Saint Saviour, Southwark, Surrey -married to Frances Moody born 1796 London, Middlesex
He was a Glass Cutter.
siblings of George: Ann 1781, Sarah 1783, Onesiphorus 1793.

Next Generation back:
Onesiphorus Nevill b. abt. 1755 married to Sarah Meachem of Wandsworth Surrey.
He was a Miller and Founder.

I am not sure as I am relatively new to researching family history and I don't have much information. I do know, however, that I have a couple of ancestors in my direct line with the last name Nevill, and so I wanted to gather more information. Joseph was born to Yelverton and Elizabeth Neville, with both Yelverton and Joseph being in my direct Neville line. We do not know much of Elizabeth. Yelverton fought in the Revolution with his father, William, then they moved on to Barren County KY for a brief period, finally Yelverton took his bounty land in Jackson County, TN. We have visited his grave, a very small cemetery on his old property.

Joseph moved on from TN to Perry County, IL which is where the family has resided down through the generations with some still there.

Sorry Michele I don't have any other info on the Gerorge Nevill on my list only he must have been bapt 1st Jan 1804 don't know where. This was given to me by another person searching our same family. I only know the older 5 children of this family where bapt in Stoke Newington MDX but I haven't found the Bapt for the younger 3. Regards June.

Mary E. Nevill (born abt 1823 VA) and James T. Nevill (born abt 1827 VA); lived Madison Co. AL

I am looking for help with the ancestors of Mary E. Nevill and her brother, James T. Nevill.

According to the 1850 census in Huntsville, Madison Co. AL, Mary was born about 1823 in VA. She married Henry Delp in Huntsville in 1849. They had 4 children together and then Mary either died or she and Henry divorced because he remarried in 1869 to Ann Elizabeth Ware.

James T. Nevill was born about 1827 in VA (according to census). 1850 census lists James living with his sister and brother in law and a Sarah Ann Nevill who was 48 at the time of the census and born in VA. (I’m assuming Sarah Ann to be the mother of Mary and James.)

James T. Nevill died 1894 in is buried Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville.
Sarah Ann Nevill (married name) died in 1869 and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery.
I found no record for the death of Mary Nevill Delp.

James T. Nevill was involved in several deed transactions. The first transaction was dated 1853 and stated that he was a resident of Marshall County, AL.

I would appreciate any help that someone can give that would help identify the ancestry of these Neville’s. Their names are spelled with the “e” and without the “e”.

I have sent for the marriage certificate . online, of this couple and if this Emma matches up with the parents I have for mine, I will let you know what I learn. They say it takes about 5-7 days.
The age of Emma (married in 1852) would be 40 when she had the child, but...it happens!

I received the marriage record from the GRO. This is the information:
John Albury, bachelor and coal porter, son of George Albury ,lighterman, married Emma Nevill, spinster, daughter of Daniel Nevill , coal Porter.
Marriage took place in the district of Lambeth, county of Surrey,May, 30, 1852 in the St. John's Parish Church after Banns. The minister was Johnston
Witnesses were Mary Ann Albury and Daniel Nevill.
Residence is listed as Church Street.
If this is your family, I don't mind mailing this to you, as it turns out it is NOT mine.

I'm the granddaughter of Oleta Dovie Nevill born 1906 Oklahoma. She was the youngest child of Samuel Griffith Nevill born 1862 Illinois and was known to her birth family as "Dovie"

Samuel Griffith Nevill was the child of Samuel Griffith Nevill born 1822 Tennessee.

Samuel G. Nevill (b1822) was the child of Joseph Neville born 1792 North Carolina.

Joseph Neville was the son of Yelvertan/Yelvetan Neville born 1763 Virginia. Etc. Etc.

married Sarah Franies Smith
she was born Dec. 17, 1868
I have info that says "from Oklahoma" but definate no birth place
died June 23, 1916
They were married Dec. 20, 1883

They had numerous children, my grandmother being the last and I believe she was born in Washita County, OK but will have to check that out to be sure.
I have a lot more info i.e. children but need to dig it out and put it all together.
