Joseph Franklin Newburn, a native and lifelong resident of Whistler (Mobile Co) AL, died at the family residence in Whistler, Wednesday morning, October 18, 1950. He is survived by his wife (Ella) Roberts Newburn of Whistler; four sons, Vernon E Newburn, of Whistler; Homer B Newburn, of Semmes (Mobile Co) AL; Kendal F Newburn of Mobile, and Hebber Newburn of Dearborn MI; three daughters, Mrs Stanley Peck, Pyson UT; Mrs D A Hamilton of Sunny Side UT; and Mrs J D Wright of Saint David AZ; one brother, Dr G W Newburn of Prichard (Mobile Co) AL; one sister, Eula Swaine, of Cuba AL; thirty-five grandchildren; one greatgrandchild and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the Church of the Latter Day Saints, 1412 Springhill Ave, Friday morning, October 20, 1950 at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in the Indian Springs Cemetery. Arrangements by Martin - Chevalier.
