I hope someone can help (and I will try to keep this as clear as possible). I am trying to find the ancestry of Isabel Newkirk. I do know the following:
b: August 27, 1912
d: October 1966
Memories from my mom are that Isabel was a distant cousin of my grandfather, Roy Thomas Newkirk (10/6/1906 to 9/18/1988). Roy was born and raised in Montana, so it assumed that Isabel was as well (Isabel was considered a "little sister" by Roy).
Census information indicates that 2 cousins of my 3rd Great Grandfather, John Thomas Newkirk (2/26/1829 to 3/27/1907) moved from Missouri to Jefferson County, Montana. The cousins, David Newkirk (b. 1840) and Francis Newkirk (b. 1834), both show in the Montana 1880 census.
Isabel married a gentleman by the name of Utley (mom always knew Isabel as Isabel Utley). She later married a gentleman by the name of Dummann.
Could David or Francis be an ancestor of Isabel Newkirk? Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
