Well this is a response on a very OLD post,but my 2 cents. Joseph & family were part of the Old 300 that came with Stephen F. Austin to Texas in 1822-24.The Rabb's- father William & sons(Rachel's brothers) were part of the original scouting party in 1819. Joseph was the first Texas Ranger along w/J. Tumlinson. Tumlinson was killed the first trip out. My great,great grandfather Andrew Rabb Newman was the last child born to Joseph & Rachel in 1830-Joseph died in 1831 and is buried in Egypt(Texas) cemetary.
