Hello,

I'm trying unsuccessfully to research a line of NEWSOMs originating in Stokes County, NC.

Ella Angeline VEST (1890 - 1984) married three times: to Rufus Wiley NEWSOM (in 1909), Claud(e) NEWSOM (before 1934), and Charlie HARRIS (before 1966). I can trace the NEWSOM lines back in time with ease, but I'm having trouble with the more recent generations. Does anyone have knowledge of Ella's children with either or both of her NEWSOM spouses?

Ella had the following children [unclear which NEWSOM husband of Ella's was their father]:
1. Ethel NEWSOM (born 1910? died 2000?) She married Tolon CLANTON and had children Roberta and Ted CLANTON. She may have moved to SC and later to Virginia.
2. Howard NEWSOM married a woman with the first name Irene and lived at King, NC.
3. Ella may also have had a daughter named Lena NEWSOM.

I'm also trying to find an obit for Ethel NEWSOM CLANTON, since I believe she died 5 Apr 2000 in York County, Virginia.
Any help would be enormously appreciated!
