I am also looking for Newtons, but from west Texas area. My great grandfather was Bertie Milton Newton. My mother is not sure but thinks that the Milton part of his name ws his father's first name. Bertie is not short for anything as far as we know and was not a nickname. My mother also told me that he had a sister named Virginia that went by the nickname Virgie. According to the 1930 cenus he was born about 1904 in Texas and that his father was from Tennessee and his mother was from Texas. If anyone has any information please e-mail me. thanks y'all
