I don't know the answer. Red's death certificate says he is buried in Piney Grove but there is no marker for him there. I bet the family made sure he was buried right next to his wife Judy Ann Marlow. Here is my guess. Someone said he was a veteran of the Civil War (he was a member of the home guard) and therefore entitled to a free grave marker. Someone found where a Robert E. Newton had served and assumed that Red was a nickname for Robert and installed the wrong grave marker. A close family member may know if my guess is correct and there may be others who are willing to make it right. That would make Judy happy!
