Surnames: BELDEN BELDING NEWVILLE PARKHURST SPENCER
Mariah BELDEN married 1st Archibald SPENCER. They had two children, Charles, and Archibald SPENCER. Archibald died 11/21/1864 in the Civil War. Mariah married 2nd John NEWVILLE. The 1880 census for Twin Mound Twp, Norton Co., KS, lists John, 59; Maria, 39; Charles, 19; Archibald SPENCER, 15; Otis NEWVILLE, 8; Asa NEWVILLE, 6; Jesse NEWVILLE, 1; Helena SPENCER, 18 [probably wife of Charles]; and Edward SPENCER, 11/12.
I connect to the BELDEN and PARKHURST families. Mariah's parents were Heman Frederick and Betsy PARKHURST BELDEN. Betsy is a sister of my gg grandfather, Noah PARKHURST; Heman is a brother of my gg grandmother Eliza BELDING PARKHURST.
