When my grandmother Mary Dirks, 17, and her sister Katharina Dirks, 16, immigrated to the U.S. from the Ukraine in 1923, they were sponsored by a "Mr. and Mrs. Nice" of Souderton, Pennsylvania, U.S., who were associated with the Eastern Mennonite Home. Some Internet research I have conducted suggests the full name of Mr. Nice might be John S. or Garret S. Nice. I would really like to find out the answer, as I am reediting my grandmother Mary's memoirs of that time and would like to include Mr. and Mrs. Nice's first names, and also ideally, a photo.
