Looking for info on Andrew Nicholls and wife Mary Anne Lawry. Andrew was from Mill Downs farm and Mary known as Anne was from Lady Downs farm. Their son Steve was my grandfather. he was born about 1870/71 and baptized in Gulval parish in 1873.
Andrew and family migrated to the coal fields of Scranton, PA about 1880 and settled in the town of Throop,PA. They had 8 children: Ruth,Leona,Mildred,Martha,Richard,Ronald, Harold and Olive. Mildred died as a young woman, Richard was my father. Brothers of Andrew migrated to Michigan and to New Zealand and Austrailia

Richard Lawry born 15 Jun 1800 and died 30 Mar 1868 from Zennor married Ann(?)Martin in 1822 in Zennor,(Ludgvan), Cornwall. they had 7 children. Mary Lawry born 1831 married Andrew Nicolls 14 Aug 1854.they had 8 Children. My line is from her brother Henry Lawry born 10 May 1822. He married Mary Lawry 16 Apr 1842.they had 11 children. Both families stayed close. I found both in Zennor with their parents in 1841. Mary was with her parents in 1851, but Henry was married and was in St Ives. Both men were miners and were in Cornwall and Pennsylvania and back to Cornwall and back to Pennsylvania. Henry and Mary are buried in Homestead, PA. and Mary Ann Lawry is buried in Scranton, PA (so is Stephen

Hello With the Cornwall/Australia/New Zealand link of Andrew -
Does any one know of two brothers NICHOLLS John C 1830 and a brother James being in Australia emmigrated or born and moving to New Zealand around 1866. James went on to England where he died. John Married at age 46.Died Blenehim Marlborough New Zealand 1905.
Father may have been John and in Australia with them??

Roger,My Nicholls ancestors emmigrated to the US and settled in the Michigan and Pennsylvania mining areas. The Lawry side of my family emmigrated to New Zealand and are still in nthe area of Timaru. My great grandfathers oldest son Richard did emmigrate to Australia. I have not found any direct info on him as of yet.
